Barleywines aged in brandy barrels really hit the sweet spot for me. Can't wait to see their interpretation of the style

Let the grind begin is fire!! Reminds me of 2014 Viet Speedway fresh. Sweet, viscous, and full of coffee notes.

Does anyone know if Sight and Mind is an American or English Barleywine?

I hope they make another batch of Console Exclusive. Couldn't get enough of that on draft....

Dang, low fills of Sight and Mind today. Jealous of the Anaheim peeps. Hope someone checks in and gives us their thoughts. My consolation prize will be a Sucaba pour.

I thought it was a really solid BA barleywine, especially for their first go of it. I think I prefer Sucaba a little bit more, but FW has had what 7+ years for perfect their recipe.

Sight & Mind has notes of sweet toffee up front, with what I’d describe as a dry cardboard-y finish (not a bad thing). If you actually like Barleywines, you should be quite happy with this offering.

I will also say that it really pretty smooth with very little to no alcohol burn on it for a 13.7% ABV. BL does a great job mellowing out/hiding that booze burn, but still giving you that boozy flavor.

Tried both the angel beer and the barleywine. FO was better  Out of the 2, Angel was better. Obviously they are 2 different beers however i did not buy the Angel nor will i buy the barleywine. Im not alone, hence why there are still low pours of the barleywine.

Easy peezy sale for Sight and Mind. Noticed BL said on Insta that this was going to be the last easy sale for a while. Guessing that means we're going to see some big stout releases this fall and winter.

Totally unrelated, but I'm reminded me of when they announced Ground State at the beginning of summer and said it was stout season... only to release 2 stouts (GS and FO) the entire summer LOL.

That was a joke since the summer heat is supposed to not be the best time for drinking heavy dark beers...

    An evil, mean, cruel joke...

Where's all my stouts at?! :grinning:

The Barleywine is fantastic, will do wonders when it sits.
