You could get a gallon of gas for that!

no. no it is not. i would say the exception might be their milkshake nawi 4-packs but for regular hop nawi and hop haida the price difference isnt justified.

i live one town over from Energy City and buying directly from the brewery for $18-19 dollars still had me grimace. good stuff though and i'm happy to support their endeavors.

Can someone remind me--did Energy City have a beer at FR's NE tap takeover a few months ago?

Does Energy City date their cans?

I saw some awhile back, but they weren't inside the cooler and I couldn't find a date on them, so I passed.

I think they put an old school grocery like label with the date on the plastic 4 pack holder which could easily be manipulated by shady retailers...

Correct. The 4 pack I bought a few weeks back had this. And it was mostly rubbed off.

Over the past few days I’ve consumed almost treehouses entire core lineup via a trade. I’ve had all of these a number of times, but it’s been a while. I can honestly say that Chicago’s production of the style is on par, and in some case maybe better than the TH stuff. IMO there isn’t a huge difference in quality any longer and I personally don’t feel much of a need to trade for the east coast stuff anymore. What a time to be a Chicagoan

Solemn Oath Pants Man, a "NE-Pale Ale", isn't terrible, but is pretty dull & has a bit of a macro-lager finish.

I know Pale Ale's are supposed to be less bold than IPA's, but this is an easy pass for me moving forward.

While not a NE-IPA, nice to see cans of Melvin 2x4 seeing distro in Chicagoland. The list of excellent beer available in this city continues to grow.

Really enjoyed it in Colorado. But I worry about freshness being out of region

    Let’s me catch up here.

Recent bomber of Sosus is absolutely stellar. THIS batch is what TG should be striving for in all of their beers.
Pipeworks Velocity of Light it’s absolutely stellar.
Hop Butcher beers this week are nice, but a tad sweet.
Excited to try Goin Hazy from Brickstone later this week.

Apparently it gets distributed to central IL. I think people in Champaign-Urbana and BloNo mention they get it

Fuckers couldn't get in a time machine and go back 15 years to when I was in college downstate, eh?

Kidding, I couldn't have afforded $15 4-packs of beer back then anyway

Lol I've had it a couple of times and really enjoy it, but respect your opinion.

Honestly, overrated or not, half the fun of craft beer is trying shit out for yourself. There's way too much variation in palates and opinions to know whether you'll enjoy something (and how much) without trying it yourself.

I've been hearing that lately about M-43, as well. I know for a fact they changed their formula. The rarity flavor is no longer present as it's become a lot easier to obtain. Also some batches don't have the expensive flavor either when Meijers puts M-43 on sale.

To be fair, I was unimpressed the first time I tried it. Back when you still had to hunt it down.
