Is it smoked at all, or just part of the name?

 

No smoke, just part of the name. It's like a classic, easy drinking pale ale, but with nice modern hop flavor (first sips don't do it justice- 5 minutes in these things can be knocked back like candy).

 

Late session for me. Excited for the breweries listed. Glad I'll be able to hear about any elevator debacles on here from those of you in first session, at which point I will probably not change anything I planned on doing anyways.

 

Think luponic distortion. It’s a soft new school pale ale with flaked oats, Citra and mosaic. Needs to become a regular cuz it’s great

 

Can’t wait for those kegs of Tape Pop, Maman and Derivation that are early session only!

 

Its not a rooftop like you might think. It's slightly elevated and there are a couple sets of stairs (about a flight or two) to get there from street level. It's also tented, so if there's rain, it won't be terrible. It's a great venue.

 

When I saw "across from Millennium Park" I incorrectly assumed it was on Michigan Ave, forgetting that section of Randolph across from the Aon building where this venue is located....how many people does the rooftop hold?

 

I was there for the burger event associated with the chicago gourmet fest. i'd guess there were about 600-700 people.

In all seriousness, for anyone wondering, they said same beers at both sessions

Final thought, I wonder when Mikerphone and J Wakefield will have finally combined to use every single lyric uttered by Biggie Smalls.

 

I'll be at the early session. Looking forward to it. The Iist of breweries looks fantastic!

I don't mind paying a premium since a portion of the proceeds will benefit music education.

I think it's already out. Saw it on the floor at Binny's Grand on Saturday.
