What beer are you drinking now? #2153

This is a fresh Ten Fidy and oh yes.

 

Thanks @The-Adjunct-Hippie. This was delicious. Great head retention/lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, peanut butter, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of smoke, char, dark fruit, herbal/grassy hops, and yeast earthiness. Mild herbal/grassy hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy/silky/bready malts/lactose; slight sticky hops and chalky char/roast. Lightly increasing lingering hop/roast bitter dryness. No acrid/astringency. Very smooth, minimal warming 5.8%. This was not as explosively in-your-face on the PB as I expected, but still impressive. Very rich and well rounded malt complexity, nice PB/lactose presence, and mild earthy hops against sweetness. Spot on style example. 3.9


Rye barrel brown. Fantastic! Nice head retention/spotty lacing for the ABV. Aromas and flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, vanilla, cream, lightly spicy rye/whiskey, toasted oak, nuttiness, and brown bread; with light notes of licorice, raisin, cherry, plum, fig, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, herbal hops, and yeast earthiness. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Mild herbal/grassy/roast bitterness and rye/whiskey/oak spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, bready rye malts; slight slickness, sticky hops, chalky roast, and whiskey/oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering bitter/spicy dryness. No cloying. Mildly increasing warmth of 12.6%, minimal barrel booze. They got this one dialed in as expected. Very rich dark/bready/rye malt complexity with perfect barrel integration; mild fruity yeast and earthy hop balance against sweetness. Worth another buy. Glad these were in singles. Hope the rest of the barrel series stays out of the gift box this year. I don't need more glassware. 4.25

Busting out a good one because I’m gonna get serious for a minute. As some of you Long-time virtual bar patrons know my youngest needed open heart surgery 5 days after she was born. Surgery went as well as it could and everything has been aces for the better part of 4 years now.

We have to go in at 5am tomorrow because, after a few visits/consultations she needs a procedure. Everything should be fine, but we’re looking at a minimum of one night there and, worst case, another possible surgery although a stent looks most likely. Fucking stent at 4 years old, smh. It’s gonna be a tough day and she’s a fighter so I’m not worried but I always hate to see such a little girl have to go under and go through all this shit. She’s a real nut and she handles it better than her parents.

This beer is fantastic. Coffee is perfect. We start at 5ish, this will make it easier for me to sleep.

 

A Wyoming Beer. Surprised me too. Yes! Delicious!

 

Love Tilquin lambics, that and Mûre are just shelf beers that are lasting around me. 3 week’s on the shelf and still fully stocked!
