Westmalle - around 2€ in most Carrefour City. A good deal.

Ah. You could be able to find Sierra Nevada or Lagunitas, possibly some Goose Island IPA there too - but not as fresh though... you’re welcome.

A typical Thursday morning for me. Enjoying a new Tap Room beer from Upslope and listening to a vinyl release from John Zorn (same cover as his 'O'o' CD although a different tuneage offering...

A nice pale ale packed with gentle mild grain flavors and a crisp, delicately biting hop snap. The only down side is a rather anemic carbonation and head offering, but the aroma and flavor are top-notch.

...and a nice tune (with Marc Ribot on guitar) featured on both the 'The Dreamers' vinyl release and the 'O'o' CD...

Following up from earlier this morning, having another rather large pour of KBS.

    Hopefully this shows better sizing.

It's not drinking as smoothly as I'd like, but it's still a welcome change. My palate is probably shot anyway right now. I look forward to getting right for the weekend.

Thanks for the warm welcome back, Dave @DoctorZombies , @lordofthewiens , @Prager62 , @Dragginballs76 , and Corey @WesMantooth (from the BIF thread). I don't need any of the cliche thank yous - everyone does a job worth appreciating, and I'm just a sandwich delivery guy, after all - but I really do appreciate the welcome. I've missed all you guys. :grinning:

    Cheers!

Man I really fell in love with this album over the last 5 months.

I may as well get on the Okto bus, this one's from Ghost River Brewing in Memphis . . .

Light clear gold color with white cap and step lacing as the glass is drained.

Aroma is primarily sweet malt, a bit caramely, with spicy floral hops in the background.

Taste is rich malt forward with the lightly sweet malt backed up by slightly roasted munich malt which gives it a bit of a toasty roasty taste. Hops hang in the background until the finish where they put a snap closure on the aftertaste. Malt comes right up to the edge of over richness when pulled up short by the hops which hold a firm grasp on the leash to the end.

Texture is fuller than medium but it's a restrained weight.

Overall this is a good effort deserving a B grade. It doesn't really do more than what the other B grade Oktoberfests do but it's worth at least a try or two.
