    I’ve decided for yet another long walk along these coasts. But I also decided to drink Affligem before enduring this. Weather is excellent and ideal ~75F.

    I have one more night left in my work week and decided to bring out something aged

    Pretty mellow after 3 years

    I bought a 4 pack in 2015 and have had one each year since. It's pretty much past it's prime now. I used to really struggle with the whiskey barrel aroma, so I sat on things to see how they would change. Whiskey aroma and taste are mostly gone now, leaving sweetness and alcohol. Interesting experiment, but I think 6-12 months is my personal sweet spot for whiskey barrel aged beers. Cheers all!

    This beer fresh is a treat. Ton of dank citrus, this DIPA could go toe-to-toe with the best of them. And, after a hard fought 4-4 draw last night then a busier than usual Sunday overnight, I deserve this shit. Cheers.

    Malt is creeping in but still a real treat to drink. Half Acre always does a great job. Man I hate these Monday mornings, :wink:, feel like I could really knock ‘em down right now.

    Deep Topaz Amber color with white cap and good lacing.

    Aroma of caramel malt, toffee, some hop spice.

    Rich malt entry, caramel, toffee, much like the nose. Just a dusting of hops. Finish is clean, crisp, and no bitterness, just rich malt.

    Duchesse Anne - a local triple in her proper glass... interesting. Even better as the walk ended up being 5 difficult kilometers in steep rocks.

    Took the dog for a walk and this will be my closer. I’m guessing this is a ‘14 bottle, it is stupidly smooth. A lot of the flavors are gone, I guess unsurprisingly, still a bit of spicy caramel, a bit of the oak, and a little stickiness. Still, probably should have drank this earlier.
