Lunch beer from the grocery store - “IPA” brewed and bottled by Marstons PLC, Burton Upon Kent, England:



Earthy hops, kinda skunky nose. Lite bitterness, odd metallic taste, lite caramel malt base. Tinny metallic finish. Not a fan...

 

Home from work, hopefully a nice, deep nap after this great DIPA and then my boys at the San Siro. We better play better—although much of the team is either hurt or left in England—than we did at Wembley this past Saturday. COYS

 

Really like the graphics on this one . . .



Light gold color with white cap and lace.

Aroma of rich Pilsner malt and floral, spicy hops.

Flavor of rich malt cake with spicy hop frosting. It's a milder sort of flavor in the overall scheme of things, rather simple as well, yet it has complexity that rivals it's Czech originals. Malt forward with hops riding along and adding a touch of brightening bitterness at the finish.

Light medium texture with balancing carbonation.

A good, basic Pislner style lager that's true to it's roots. Clean and refreshing, it's also clearly well made because this style won't allow for the hiding of any mistakes. Someone with confidence made this one and if I ever fish the Guadalupe again it's a good bet I'll have some of this along.

 

I've been tasked with assembling a small shed today.

Mornin’ BA. Decided to crack one of these bad boys open while my wife gets ready. We went to Pipeworks Dojo the other week since we were in the area. We got some other stufff, and I was tempted to get these but didn’t just to save an extra buck. Right when we went to leave, the guy helping us tells us to hold on for a second, goes into the back and reappears with a 4 pack of these. Tells us thanks for stopping by and hopes we enjoy our brews. Huge thanks to that guy, what a bro. We had a great experience there. Really awesome place and some great brews. I only had a sample of it there since they aren’t a taproom, and I thought it was great. Excited for this can.
As I open this beer, the citrus aromas just unloads. This is great. Cheers all!

Right along here ba. On the Wings of Armageddon, iipa, from DC Brau. Had this for the first time, a few months ago, when I was down in southern Maryland for work. It was a bit dated but since I had seen it on here so many times I had to try it. Now we catching freshies on ny distro. Drinks big, aggressive, and a cure for anyone complaining about the haze craze,

We managed to spend the entire afternoon shopping (and by “we” I don’t necessarily mean me...) around town. Home now with the canned version of the IPA I’ve had several times at the local bar - “Collision South Coast IPA”:



Columbus and Mosaic hops. Plenty of citrus and tropical notes.

 

Consider Yourself Hugged, IS w/ peanut butter/roasted coffee, from Prairie here ba. Decent enough but not exactly great in my book players. The peanut butter it pretty prominent and gives a rather sweet/sandy feel to the overall brew. I get the bitter coffee grinds on the finish but it's rather drowned out by the pb flavor. Good, but not nearly as great as bomb/bday. Maybe it’ll grow on me,
