    New Great Lakes brew - new to cans anyway

    Not sure I ever understand their marketing strategy - why come out with a new canned beer and put in pint cans in a 12 pk only?

    Weird business decisions aside, I like the brew

    Forgot that I'd put this in the fridge a few weeks ago but remembered and decided I could use a nice beer tonight.

    Double Sour Cherry Organic Berliner by Mikkeller, at 4.8% ABV. It looks beautiful and tastes refreshing and balanced. Cheers all!

    Ok....so I made some Tequila Lime Chicken thighs and had a couple of brews. Who cares? The finishing touch is Wild Onions Drago. I've been enjoying this brew years and it keeps getting better.[IMG]

    A Florida beer (bottled three years ago) in a Florida glass, both courtesy of the generous @whyteboy003

    The aroma is subtle and semi-sweet. Notes of dark dried fruit like dates and raisins, some caramel, hazelnuts/chocolate spread (yes, I mean Nutella) and offset dry oak aroma. A touch ashy.

    This beer has some upfront malt sweetness, but overall is relatively dry and slightly bitter. It’s quite nutty as well.

    Very low carbonation and creamy smooth mouthfeel.

    I’ve never had this beer fresh so I don’t know how it’s changed over time, but I can tell you that I am enjoying it with three years.

    I'm at six beers
    going on seven beers
    that I truly enjoy;
    Dunkel of von Trapp, though not from the tap
    three sixes to destroy.

    You know how I know I'm... uh... thirsty?

    These were not drunk today - but today is recycling and it was the last chance I had to act like @PatrickCT with these. Today's imbibing is just starting with the 16oz or so in the stein plus the remaining 8oz or so in the bottle.

    One of the best things to happen to beer lately is this in cans and in distro around here.[IMG]

    Funny how I like it more now that Aslin and a bunch of newer breweries are doing the late-hop addition thing. Might need to consider a trip down to the brewery if they have it available - it's been too long.
