Thanks for the recommendation. The selection, price and freshness of Belgian beers locally has gotten so bad, I am going to place an order online in the near future.

Gotcha. If going for an online order - try to seek other Belgians with a reasonable price tag, namely - Maredsous, Karmeliet, Westmalle, Duvel (though that one is basically everywhere on shelves IIRC), Piraat, Chimay, Gouden Carolus - which could be a fairly good start.

Unless you’re big on Lambics I’d steer clear of them as they are about $30 in the US (Cantillon and 3F) I know they have their fans but I always passed on them.

Came home and enjoyed the last bit of sun on the balcony along with this weird beer.

It tastes pretty much like melted pina colada ice cream. In a good way. It got a bit heavy towards the end but other than that it was surprisingly good. I picked it up it the local bottle shop not too long ago. Just couldn't resist though it sounded kind of hit or miss. May need to pick up a few more of these.

Very pretty amber red color with small cap and lacing.

Aroma of ripe blackberry which comes across as surprisingly tart for such a sweet fruit.

Taste is straight forward tart ripe blackberry which is pretty much on the mark for those who have access to the fruit in the wild. Most blackberry flavors are sweet but the wild examples can be somewhat tart depending on the soil. Otherwise it's a lighter style of brew that serves as a carrier for the blackberries.

    Light texture with balancing carbonation.

Overall it's an interesting take on the blackberry theme that comes across fairly well. Not really a food match or a Summery Shandy, rather a take on the tart theme.

What's better than Oskar Blues Pinner?

A stovepipe of Oskar Blues Pinner, that's what! Bought a 6-pack of these for $15. Best money that I've spent in a while. 116 oz. of beer is a happy thing. Certainly better than any 4-pack of pounders of hazejoose.

Continuing to drink down some oldies. A Thirsty Dog Wulver that's probably at least three years old. Not to shabby with some nice barrel notes of vanilla, oak, and cherry. I feel like @jvgoor3786 with the kitchen pic!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::slight_smile: I really need to get some landscaping done soon.:money_mouth:

Continuing my Friday the 13th marathon. Part 6 on the screen, Tumbler in the glass. Another nice day off.

Dog seems to be judging me however. That, or she needs to go pee.

Beautiful looking beer, bright tropical hop notes, a touch of sweetness, definitely a nice bitter hop bite. Really solid stuff! Twelve Percent distribution so no wonder the $5 price tag. Only drawback.

    Cheers!
