This was my biggest worry. If people wanted just the glass and not pours or Crowlers hoping they were separate lines. I did not go yesterday but am really considering swinging by tomorrow or Friday (if Tyson is still there) but don't have an hour + to stand in line. Since the rest of the week is really just glasses, unless they pull out some surprises, I would hope to get in with a relatively short wait and be on my way. Wishful thinking I'm sure but it does not seem that difficult. Just have a line for those that want to pickup just their glassware now and then another line for those that want to pickup their glassware along with getting a pour and/or Crowlers. Of course I can also see a glassware only line being the lowest priority for The Answer since those people will pay their $$ and leave without spending more $$ on beer and hanging out for a bit. The locals do have a bit of an advantage in that they can could grab their glassware tickets when handed out and then come back later that evening if more convenient for them.

If your plan is to get in/out in an hour on Thursday....I wish you luck.
Seriously though, unless it’s drastically different than yesterday with crowlers, it’s unlikely. The line was steady for a few hours from the back bar to the stage & it was S-L-O-W.

Exactly what I am expecting based on the first couple days. While I would love to spend more time there and enjoy some banter along with a couple pours buts it's the penalty of having a 9 to 5 plus not being an immediate local. Good thing is they are a Noon open (and 12:20 release) tomorrow so I'll just keep tabs on how today goes and then track how things play out tomorrow.

EDIT: Completely forgot tomorrow is JOOSE Day so that may throw another wrench in how fast lines may move. I didn't even check to see if they kept that on normal scheduled yesterday. but it seems they in fact did.

That was a big part of my point, people were loading up on joose crowlers (selecting them at the bar) which is not a quick process.

Yep....I'm out. Guy posted on Q&A already a couple people / chairs in line as of 8:15am. Do they not realize it's 1,800 glasses and even at 6pp that's 300 people? This week is kind of like old school Veil.......People choose to wait a couple/several hours on the front end or just show up and stand in line for several hours on the back end.

Side note....Anyone who will be in Sat for the events and looking for other things to do check out Final Gravity. Easy 4 mile / 10 min drive to/from The Answer. It's their 3rd Anniversary and they will have guest taps from The Answer, Veil, Triple Crossing, Ocelot, Aslin, Red Dragon, Precarious Beer Project, Benchtop, Oxbow, American Solera along with their own stuff. I believe they will be taking over the parking lot next to them.

Well as I have learned this week trying to trade for a glass, the secondary on these glasses is insane. In my opinion at least. I was basically asked for an BA Angry chair bottle for one glass. They are cool glasses and all but I like the beer that goes in them better.

Similar to limited beer releases - people will line up because you can get more than one and they have excellent secondary trade or monetary value. I'm guilty of liking and trading for the glasses as well.

According to the last post on Q&A about line status (around 1:30pm) it was only a 15 min wait and someone else said line was only out to the door. Someone else said parking lot was jam packed but those seem to be people hanging out grabbing pours, food and such.

The pros get mom, dad, gramdma, grandpa or retired soldiers to line up for them. See that post on Q&A from about 830 this morning? First few people in line seem to fit this description.

    Sad. Frustrating.

I'd love to get one of those Final Fantasy Glasses. With 800 and at 4pp, you'd think that it would be possible to trade for it without spending a but load. But, I somehow expect likely not =-(.

(Side note: If anyone might consider trading an extra, shoot me a message, please. Will do my best.)

What is the Q&A you keep referring to?

The high limits/production and secondary values blow my mind. They value's are often higher than beer with the same limit/production ratio.

Yeah. People are maxing out on the glasses and those posting trade offers are for a good bit. I think the reasonable people who are looking for make some profit are pretty much asking double the cost. There are, however, quite a few generous people in the group that don't ask for as much in return or just try to get as close to $4$. Just a roll of the dice if you get responses not wanting an arm and a leg.

It's the "fan" fb group, Questions and The Answer

    Thanks for the link.

In regards to the trading, the fact that I could not trade $4$ with Angry Chair really surprised me and let me know I had not business getting involved in the glassware scene. Hopefully at some point they will be mass produced and available online.

Thanks for the link. I'm not really on facebook, so that's a bit of an issue. May need to dabble though, I guess. I'd be happy to do trades equal to two or three times the cost, I just can't really get into the scenarios @Freshly_Squeezed_Ry mentioned.

    Much appreciated!

I get it. I personally do not even get into the secondary market scene. It's too much to keep track of. Who really creates the value for this stuff? I personally think 800 glasses, 800 sets, 1,600 glasses, etc is more than enough for people not to even ask twice or three times the cost. Even if someone not local is seeking beers, glassware, pins, etc out it should be $4$ IMO. I never really got why people try to go for those max profitz. I know most breweries are very much against it but know some people want to try to "win" the trade. I understand when people justify with the, "my time, my waiting in line, my gas, etc has a cost too" but the person on the other end has scenarios as well. For me it's really about I have something you want that I may have access to and more than likely there is something local to you I probably want as well so let's go $4$ with maybe someone paying a little bit more if there are shipping $$ differences depending on what's sent.

**disclaimer: I have not made it down to The Answer any this week (kicking myself for not going yesterday with such short wait times!) and won't be there this weekend so do not have access to any of the stuff releasing**

This is the only way I've gotten the two Answer glasses I have. The Answer group/fan base is largely different from a lot of what the beer trading scene has become. The people out there flipping aren't indicative of the kind of generosity that is normal there (and seemingly unheard of elsewhere). Countless stories of "I was just visiting at the bar and mentioned ____ and they just gave me two!". People get gifted them pre-release and there seem to always be some leftover after they "sell out" and sometimes lucky folks walk out with them on random sundays. I love that about this place.

if anything else you follow for, the group is always doing BIFs, and various giveways via "pick-a-number/ randon number generator", "first person to post a pic with/of _____". It truly is the most unique and generous group (beer or otherwise) I'm part of. Even non-locals are sometimes covered with shipping if they happen to win. The people who are doing these have received the generosity from others before them and they just keep paying it forward over and over again. You just gotta be quick to catch those posts. Ive caught some after only a couple minutes of being posted to and there's already 30 comments. HA

Well these last couple post have given me hope. Hopefully I will be able to find a fair deal in the new group. Thank you again for the link. And @TomCat11 if everyone had the same approach to trading, the hobby would be much more enjoyable.
