My way wife broke my bourbon taster, of course she didn't tell me. I didn't find out until I was looking for it, then she spilled the beans. But it's usually me that busts stuff up, I broke the stem of my Founders snifter I like that glass, luckily it broke clean at the stem and a bit of glass glue saved it. Most hit the trash though.

The pair of wee ones in my premises could break an anvil.

5 years ago my stepmother bought me this entire collection (not cheap):

I hate every single one of them

Come to my house and pick them up. I don't know well enough to send you anything.

This one is a bit of a novelty — but DrJ is tasting great out of it tonight.

I have the set of pretentious glasses. Love them. They are thick and heavy and there is a certain gravitas when holding it. It is thick e that I am not afraid to use them.
I have used Simon Pearce glassware as well. Beautiful stuff.
I can't convey how it is better, it just is. But I enjoy high quality artisan products. I am on the wait list for a hand forged kitchen knife

I will go with machine made. Blown glass is nice but I did break the stem off of my favorite tulip glass last night. It figures that it was the only glass I own that was over $10.00. Back to the cheapos for me.

No handblown for El Clumsio. Aside from printed nonic pints is my 20 oz. GLBC stout glass which does nicely. Now if there was a 20 oz. version of the Sam Adams glass I'd be interested.

Gravitas is all well and good when you're sober and/or extolling the virtues of the glasses in question, but once you start getting drunk, I'm willing to bet that you'd take lighter and less clumsy over heavy and awkward.

A good chef's knife is an excellent investment. Doesn't make your food taste any better, but usually people with the attention to detail to have first rate cutlery also have an idea on the techniques necessary to make food delicious.

I would rather have my heavy Sauvin glass in my hand than the incredibly thin Spieglau IPA glass when I am 6+ beers in.
