Do you mean there might be a chance that on Halloween they might have a little variant release event at the brewery??? I gotta stay tuned into their social media posts if there’s a chance of that happening. PS thanks for the info

You know they can't sell bottles to-go at the brewery, right? That's the whole point of this party moving to Wisconsin. Maybe they'll sell them as part of their cellar raid events but those have been on the last Monday of each month. I wouldn't get your hopes up on this one...

Nope. By onsite I mean at the Sommerset amphitheater. Sorry to get your hopes up.

It’s all good! Makes the $200 worth it if you’re trading some of the variants and drinking the others

Just purchased my tickets. Never been, and obviously different deal this year, but I assume the shares are off the hook? Gonna ship a box of sharing beers to my bud out there and then use the shipper to send back my Darkness bottles. Probably Modern Times, Alesmith, Bruery and Horus beers coming with me.

Does anyone know if we'll be able to buy more tokens?

I'm sure you can buy as many tokens as you can drink corresponding beers for.

Okay, so in the past, to find shares, you just walked the line. Now, there is no line. There's a campground. Anyone have any plans? Remember, these are drunk people. A line is pretty straight forward, a scattered campground is a bit more complex.

I've been lukewarm at best about this fest but with each passing week, the brewery list is becoming more impressive. Not sure if Surly is cashing in favors to pull this off or not but if even half of these breweries bring anything close to their heavy hitters, this is starting to get me to reconsider.

Totally not sure how its going to go down, but I have very high hopes. There will be at least 10 people camping in the group I am with, and three of us are bringing our campers, so we will be easy to find. If people don't stop by we will just have to go find them! I plan on bringing a wheeled cart so its easy to transport the beer if we end up walking around a lot.

I have a group of three, and we will be packing California heat. If anyone wants to organize something, count me in.

How many here are planning to attend Darkness Day. I know the format change as scared a few away, but the thread seems quieter than I remember in the past. One week out basically and weather forecast is looking decent.

According the Surly website on the Darkness Day page under event info, Friday night they will have bands playing, food trucks, a Surly cask takeover, a vintage bottle sale and a giant bonfire. I would assume that's all going down at the amphitheater. Of those going, how many will be doing that and how many plan to just bottle share at the campground? Maybe they let us bottle share at the amphitheater on Friday?

And Chris (or anyone else) I do not know about "organizing" anything since there seems to be uncertainty of how it will all go down, but feel free to message me here once you hit the campground on Friday. My friend is flying in from Colorado and bringing with some Weldwerks, Odd13 and other Colorado (mostly hops) stuff, and probably a bottle or 2 of Casey plus whatever I pull out of the cellar. Hope to see people there!

You know it's gonna be well organized and fun, that's all I'm looking for. In the end, the people who attend are what make it great. One thing for sure, there's gonna be plenty of room.

Anybody know if they’re doing a plain BA Darkness this year (or January) for distro? Or skipping in favor of the festival-only variants?

No reason to not expect 2018 BA Darkess in Jan or Feb of 2019.

If they get a batch in barrels today, it will be ready by this weekend.

Furious has been a mess for years. It takes a lot of work to make it an even bigger mess.

Just 3 of our typical dozen or so group will be the guinea pigs this year. Never camped at Somerset, I’ve heard they don’t like glass and fires at their campground. I’ve seen a published OK about glass on the site, but only a Twitter “bring your own fire ring” from Surly. I’m assuming it’s business as usual for most of us campers.

I’m pretty excited about seeing how this new format plays out. I’m also not in a huge rush to get down there early Friday, just save a little Irish Coffe Bender in the cask for me.
