I didn't see a thread yet this year, and it's this Saturday.

    Anyone hitting up Lord Hobo?

It's been a few years, and the last time I went there was a massive line around 10:30 am. This year my plan is to head over late afternoon and see what goodies are leftover.

    Anyone else?

2013 and the last time they hosted you had to be in line damn early to get in and then be stuck in that sweat hole for hours for the 3pm tapping. Handful of good bottles and a mediocre tap list to boot. Hard pass

Almost didn't pulled the trigger because of the price increase, but doing Armsby for the 2nd time in 3 years since they did the tent event. Should be a good time.

    Lord Hobo shared an event.

We are now less than a week from this incredible day. We can now confirm that in addition this year's Zwanze Cantillon sent us:
    Classic Gueuze
    Kriek
    Rose de Gambrinus
    Grand Cru Bruocsella
    Nath

We will also be pouring treats from Tilquin, Hanssens and Hof Ten Dormaal as well a couple of other special kegs and bottles that we will break out for that day.

A note about how the day will work:
We will open at 11 am per usual but encourage people to get here early in order to ensure entrance. Members of our Mug Club will be granted early VIP entrance as a thank you for their continued support for us over the years.

For those interested, we will hold an open enrollment for the Mug Club list on Sunday, October 14th. Come start your list to and become a member of this exclusive club to reap future benefits such as this.

    See you all on Saturday!

My plan is to head to Remnant's Oktoberfest in the afternoon since it's going to be gorgeous out, and enjoy some beers around Bow Market outside.

Then swing by Lord Hobo after Zwanze to see if there's anything worthwhile leftover. I've heard in year's past there's been some decent stuff left.

After a beer or two, or if there's nothing great leftover, head up the street to Lamplighter's Oktoberfest.

There's no way in hell on a beautiful September day that I'm getting in line at 9 am, and then sitting in a bar for four hours.

The only time I've actually made it into a bar for Zwanze is Novare Res, which is super easy and relaxing. Get there at open, buy a ticket, head back for the pour at 3 pm.

On the other side of the state, I'll be hitting Zwanze at Seymour in Greenfield. Ticketed event, so no waiting in line, includes 4 pours (Zwanze + 2 other Cantillon + 1 other TBD) food, and glass to take home. Worth the $75 for me.

Seymour runs things a bit differently than most venues, but find it to be relaxing, peaceful and enjoyable: not overly crowded or crowded at all (i.e. everyone gets a seat), organized food pairings, selective bottle offerings…

Only downside is the time restriction, which goes by quick given the discussions and intermingling amongst enthusiasts

Good plan. I completely lucked out last year along this vein. I was in SF the day after Zwanze Day and my wife and I went to Mikkeler. I noticed several Cantillon beers still available and started talking to the barkeep who quickly said "we have some Zwanze left if you want one of those."

I of course said yes. That was a good day.

If I recall correctly people said there was some Zwanze left later in the day at Lord Hobo as well. Although I think they were doing two different sessions for the pours back then.

When I went to Novare Res two years ago, a day or two after the event there was definitely still some Cantillon left.

Not Zwanze, but Row 34 is putting out a nice selection

Are there other Zwanze related events around Boston on Saturday?

I know it’s not a Zwanze Day event, but it’s Cantillon thing.

Armsby today was a great time. Drank lots of great beer with my buddy and ended up hanging at a table with a bunch of other really nice folks. $10 pours of Cantillon all afternoon with a keg is Suarez and a Treehouse APA mixed in.

Hit up my first Zwanze Day at Novare Res yesterday. Overall a great time. Got there around 11:40 and my wife and I were #4 and #5 for standby tickets. Walked around Old Port for awhile then came back around 2pm. Great tap list and bottle selection. A good amount of standby ticket holders were able to get glasses and pours at 3:30. I will say the one downfall was the couple we were talking to most of the afternoon waited in line and had tickets, but Zwanze t-shirts weren't allotted per ticket holder and sold out before they were even close to the door.

This plan worked out well. Remnant was awesome, it was killer to be drinking all around Bow Market on a gorgeous September day.

    Also spotted @Jason there.

We swung by Lord Hobo around 4 but we were only able to get the last couple pours of the last Cantillon draft.

    Anyone head there yesterday?

Then we hit up Lamplighter, which was great. Barely a wait and with all the extra space this year it was more than comfortable.

Finished this up with a nice Oktoberfest meal and a Hofbrau Oktoberfest at Five Horses.

Made the choice to go to the Jolly pumpkin Zwanze day this year and I will say it was one of the smoothest run beer event I’ve ever actually been to looks like I’ll continue to go there as long as they get to host.

Completely forgot Zwanze Day was happening ... Good times at Remnant, Fest Lager was going down quick.
