Insane NE DIPA as always, glad it is back for the season. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, grapefruit, guava, lemon, citrus zest, berry, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very minimal pine, zesty, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied creamy, bready, grainy wheat/oats in the mouthfeel. Slight hop stickiness, with a touch of increasing lingering bitter dryness. Zero hop astringency. Dangerously drinkable for 9.3%, minimal warming ABV. One of the absolute best in the style I've had, smoothness is unmatched. Pure citrus/tropical fruit juice hop flavors, with a touch of dankness. Never overly sweet/heavy feeling on malts for the ABV; perfectly balanced. Super soft mouthfeel. Old Nation definitely has the best MI NEIPAs.

4 year revisit. This was insane! Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, nuts, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of coconut, licorice, molasses, raisin, plum, fig, leather, smoke, and char. Bit of booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Light herbal/roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light carbonation and full body; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is amazing. Slight slickness, sticky hops, chalky roast, oak tannins, and increasing dryness. No cloying/acrid flavors. Mildly increasing warmth of 11.5%, no barrel booze. Just as impressive as I remember it. Very rich and well rounded imperial stout malt complexity, with amazing barrel integration/balance. Not overly bitter/charred on malts, or boozy/tannic on barrels.

Amazing NEDIPA as usual. Glad we finally got more in distro. Aromas and flavors of huge passion fruit, papaya, peach, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, guava, berry, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon/orange zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, white bread dough malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, grassy, citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body. Bready/grainy wheat/oat creaminess and some hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, never astringent. Dangerously drinkable for the ABV. Minimal warmth of 9%. Super juicy hops with light dankness; balanced malts, not overly sweet/heavy feeling for the ABV. Love all Ellison IPAs, but this is my favorite. Hope they make it more often moving forward.

Amazing. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, pepper, and pine hops; with balanced caramel, toffee, brown sugar, bourbon, charred oak, and brown bread sweetness; with lighter notes of coconut, vanilla, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness; and light-moderate bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/bready malts, sticky/resinous/rindy hops, and bourbon/oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing bitter/resin/tannic dryness. Lightly increasing warmth of 12.2%, mild barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Completely exceeded all expectations. Big juicy and dank Chinook, Mosaic and Simcoe hop complexity from reDANKulous; awesome malt balance and barrel integration. Not overly sweet for the ABV. Liked it a lot more than the base beer. Feels more dank than I remember, even with the barrel aging. 2 packs left; starting to mellow and balance out on hops after 5 months, but equally impressive.

Today is all about classic movies and good beer. Right now, a barley wine from Amager and Pipeworks and the best monster movie ever made, Jaws...

Awesome English winter warmer. Big flavors of raisin, plum, fig, cherry, pear, apple, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toasted biscuit, and light nutty/chocolate/roast maltiness; light-moderate herbal, floral, pepper, piney hops; and a bit of yeasty earthiness. Light-moderate piney/spicy bitterness. Very smooth finish with balanced bready creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Just all around great complexity and balance of yeast, malt, and hop flavors. This ages amazingly, love it the most after at least 9 months to mellow the hop bitterness. Just passed that in May. English strong ales are underrated. Will make sure to cellar a nice lot this time around. We barely got any last year in MI, hope it's easier to find this year.

Always world class for me. Aromas and flavors of huge pumpkin, seeds, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, gingerbread, toasted pie crust, caramel, brown sugar, and light herbal hops. Light-moderate herbal hop/spice bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied; balanced bready/grainy creaminess and hop/spice stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/spicy dryness, never astringent. Super drinkable, minimal warming 8.6%. This feels more balanced fresh than it used to be years ago. I used prefer it with some age to balance out the spices; but it seems to be good to go right now. Will be getting a few more packs. Will grab some Warlock eventually as well.

Well, apparently the USA sucks at golf. Hoping for better results from an underdog later tonight, but feel about as confident as I do a Ryder Cup comeback.

Will join the OP with this to start my day.
