Yeah interesting they pulled Dank for not meeting expectations. The cynic in me wonders why other released beers weren't pulled LOL

Thuey not liking them isn't good enough reason.

I don't live near Cellarmaker but the Hermosillo has had Double Mt. Nelson on tap the last few weeks and I've been drinking it constantly. Heading there tonight but I assume it's been kicked by now unfortunately.

Hopefully this means that the line will be short/nonexistent.

Unbelievably chill release with cans for sale at the bar. I wish all releases could be this easy!

Yeah, with nothing for the haze bros, it was the quietest release ever. I'm happy, but also kinda sad.

I'm guessing issues with irreversible off flavor build-up (diacetyl, acetaldehyde) or perhaps a stuck fermentation. Who knows.

    In case anyone is interested...

Mycrokosmos - 6.4% BA Wild Ale with chanterelle mushrooms collaboration with Tired Hands. This one is actually quite nice! It has a similar taste profile to Sour Project #1/Peach 4:1 (without the peach) / Nectarine (without the nectarine) but not nearly as tart. That makes it much more drinkable and balanced to my taste. Can you taste the mushrooms though? Maybe not so much. You wouldn't have guessed if you didn't know. But this one turned out pretty well either way.

Lost Wisdom B6 - They said this batch is the hoppiest Lost Wisdom and it's true. It's got a little bit of a bitterness to it, which works well. In fact, I haven't liked Lost Wisdom since B4 (yes, that's only B5, but they have had a number of B5 reduxes) because to me the tartness got too out of hand. B6 brings it back into balance, and the Brettanomyces is more prominent. I'm digging this one.

I remember their first batch of Lost Wisdom, exploding bottles, what an experience.

Do you think it's worth the pick up? I'm not a fan of Lost Wisdom, it wasn't funky enough for me.

Which batches have you had? Batches 1 - 2 tasted more like normal Saisons. Starting with Batch 3, it started to get increasingly tart and funky. The only problem is I think the batch on tap right now is Batch 5, as it says it's from March 2018. I found B5's tartness too dominant, but I definitely taste the funk in B6. It's very much a different beer.

(Lost Wisdom is a Solera Saison, so they reuse a little bit of previous batches to make the new one.)

Urban Roots / Cellarmaker collab'd 7.2% IPA with Mosaic, Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, & Moutere hops. A buddy picked up a can for me. Funny how the Sac thread is dead, so I felt it more appropriate to mention it here.

First Urban Roots beer for me, and it's a good one! I love the can artwork - obviously a homage to the Cellarmaker Mo' Simcoe and DDH Mo' Galaxy cans. As far as taste, it's also very Cellarmaker-esque. Incredible hop flavor explosion, with tons of tropical fruit juice notes but also with some WC bitterness as well. It did taste a little green, in that the bitterness reminded me of oversteeped tea like the DDH Double Dobis that was draught-only.

Next time I visit Sac, I'm definitely going to stop by. If you didn't tell me they brewed it, I would have totally guessed CM did.

I've never had any Urban Roots beer, but I've heard good things. I'll be in Sac next Friday, hopefully I'll be able to stop by.

    “Mo’ Citra” IPA Cans

Another addition to our exploratory series of IPAs based on the Mosaic hop. Berry and dank from the Mosaic are paired with grapefruit oil aromas and a sweet peach finish. Both fruity and dank, it’s a combo that can’t lose!

    $5 per 16oz can or 4 Pack $18

    Limit 12 Cans

“Highway To The Danker Zone ” Double IPA Cans

We love Nelson hops. They exhibit unique juicy white wine flavors unlike any other hop. There’s really no other hop quite like ’em. Here’s a West Coast Double IPA that is resinous and piney, coming in at 8.4% ABV and loaded with Nelson hops (as well as smaller amounts of Citra and Simcoe). Notes of citrus, white wine, and gooseberries.

    $6 per 16oz can or 4 Pack $22

    Limit 12 Cans

    All limits subject to change

Max 3/4pk per beer per person

Release Date: Tuesday October 2nd, 2018 at noon

I have posted about a few of their(Urban Roots) Beers in the Sac thread. All pretty solid from what I have had. Good BBQ as well.

They are really diverse as well. Their specialty is actually Saison. They do several Helles and Lagers as well. Their barrel program should be producing several great beers by next year. Nice to have something different.
