Tried a few new ones at a local this afternoon:
Wander Beyond Better than Ladybugs Peach Pale
    Twisted Barrel Glitterstim Grisette
Both on keg and both great!

    Followed by cask pints of
    Siren Suspended in Chinook pale
    Northern Monk Faith pale
Both lovely but also a bit samey and what puts me off buying new cans of pale/ipa, characterless and basically lots of soft fruit. Nice once in a while though.

After a few more beers and a couple of Lagavulin's I've got the classic midnight munchies. Wensleydale and Pohjala/BBNo Kolm Null Null Kolm imperial stout I've had for about a year! Really dry, classic imperial stout with no gimmicks, it's lovely.

This weekend just past was the York Beer & Cider Festival, which I went along to on Saturday. A solid effort by CAMRA with 500 beers available to try. The result was an epic session - I may have sampled about 30 brews or so....

Suffice to say that Sunday was a write-off

It was interesting to note that a few of the beers on offer came in wooden casks; there seems to be a small revival afoot (or the SPBW are flexing their muscles).

In this area there is actually an independent cooperage - White Rose Cooperage. I guess they're being kept busy by the boom of recent years.....

This evening with some football: Three Hills Small Steps Session IPA (3%). Picked up a growler full from Real Ale in Twickenham this afternoon, and potentially a brewery to watch. Lovely flavour for such low alcohol.

Continuing to work my way through my Real Ale haul tonight:
Three Hills Blackberry IPA (3.2%) lovely stuff again punching well above its weight in terms of flavour and weight
Northern Monk Kölsch with raspberry and honeydew melon
    Wander Beyond Milkshake Table Beer
(3%) awesome stuff, not too milkshakey

Sunday evening and I'm currently drinking the Rooster's / Oscar Blues collab Finkle & Einhorn. It's a brut pilsner - understated, dry and with clean grassy hops....

    Cloudwater Helles Tettnanger
Helles is probably my favourite type of lager
Not found a decent UK made one, hope this changes that

    Verdict?
I'm enjoying a bottle of Brewdog Lost Lager from Tesco, it is actually reminiscent of Bavarian lagers I've had.

Loved the lingering dryness, when it was straight out of the fridge I thought it was very good and the best U.K. Helles. As it went from ice cold to chilled I got more of the biscuity malt and it went to best Helles I’ve drank. By the end of the can it was rivalling for best lager.
Wasn't one hundred percent sure coz I had Cloudwater's IPL Tettnanger Cashmere and though it was smooth & malty but no big hop profile and to be honest a little bit dull

At the weekend visited the new Northern Monk bar in Manchester. Pretty busy for opening day, had the sort of beers you’d expect from them - neipa, coffee porter, black ipa.

Then on to Pilcrow for Zwanze. Only had one Cantillon pouring at a time this year instead of all at once last year, so only tried the Iris and the Zwanze but left room for some Wild Beer, Tilquin and Boon beers.

Good day all around. Indy Man next weekend.

Drinking another broughton 8.2 DIPA, while i liked it the first time i tried it a few weeks ago, it's really turned for the worse, oxidised to fuck. Also had a can of hopopotomus from them a couple of weeks ago and it had the same problem.

    I've finished my shifts
I tried seventy new brews in September then a dozen in the first couple of days of October
so I've had ten days on the wagon as I am not a beer drinking robot from the future.
Thornbridge Green Mountain, canned, so much better than bottled
Ghost Dance Chinook PA, ghost brewed for Aldi by Redwell
Hawkers IPA, reduced to clear in Marks and Sparks
