    Drove back from Hershey, PA last night, finally got to VA about midnight. Driving back to GA later today or tomorrow morning. Funeral went well, as one can go. But I did convince my lawfully wedded wife to let me make a pit stop at a beer distributor before we left town.

    Picked up some great new stuff I’ve always wanted to try.

    Although not converted to add gin to my liquor supply, this gin barrel-aged imperial IPA sure is damn fine...



    The beer has a softly sweet and grainy feel highlighted with a nice woody and gin-inspired sharpness and bitterness. Bourbon is my spirit of choice, but this gin influenced IIPA sure hits the spot...

    [​IMG] Poured into a Nordic style pint glass canned 8/15. Pours a very attractive hazy dark yellow, with a finger plus sticky white lace that leaves thick wispys behind. 4.25

    Smell is guava, tangerine, honey dew, and hints of white grapefruit rind. 4.25

    Taste follows tropical all the way, guava and tangerine dominate with some grapefruit in the balanced finish. 4.25

    Mouthfeel is about medium, gentle carbonation, soft, and extremely drinkable at 6.8% ABV. 4.5

    Overall this is just a very balanced and drinkable NEIPA, that I would love to drink again. 4.25

    Yeah, same. They're doing some really solid stuff! It's one of those brewerys that you know won't dissapoint you.

    The feet are never an easy heal unfortunately .
    I hope things heal up for you soon .

    My dogs got under my feet about two weeks ago going down three steps to the ovation and I hit the bricks hard . Haven’t quite felt the same since , but I think I just rattled everything .

    What we will do for our furry friends :slight_smile:

    Today is my one year anniversary on BA :sunglasses:! I was tempted to crack open some of the big Stouts in my cellar, but then realized that I have too many freshness-sensitive beers in my fridge that I really need to drink down. So I will be celebrating with my favorite European brewery today: Cloudwater. Thanks @DoctorZombies for providing some of them!

    Lovely, easy-drinking Pale Ale with big citrus, light tropical notes and a hint of grassy dankness.

    Drinking an old Dark Horse Plead The 5th from 2013 as the slow process of cellar clearing continues. This stout ages with the best of them! Loaded with dark roast, tobacco and chocolate. Perfect on a cool autumn day.

    Another lovely Cloudwater APA courtesy of @DoctorZombies . More tropical than the previous one, with a great mouthfeel despite the light/medium body, fantastic stuff.
