The Best Beer No One Is Reviewing

    The title says it all. What's the best beer you've had that not a lot of BA's have tried and/or reviewed.

    For me, it's Mendocino's Peregrine Pilsner. It's one of the best lagers I've ever had. Full flavored. Assertive. Damn good. It was released late summer, and only 3 reviews since.

    I could tell you but then more people would drink it and I would be sad.
    I will say, its barrel aged, I reviewed it and its a barleywine.

    Im sure ChadQuest and Barleywinefiend would wanna know....

    I know it was released recently, but St Bernardus Tokyo Witbier. World Class

    There's also a ton of Shelton imported Belgians that have hardly any reviews at all(but I did), most are quite tasty but not world class. It seems like most of Belgium gets the short end of the stick in the reviews section though, other than St B and the Trappists.

    It has pretty much replaced my beloved Mirror Pond as the sixer that's always in my fridge. Don't know if it's true, but I've been told it's a 50/50 mix of Pale 31 and DBA. Either way, it's my go-to drinkin' beer these days.

    Hmmm, I'll have to stop by my local TJ's after work to see if they have it. I hadn't noticed it before.

    Definitely worth a try. As many others reviewing this have noted....the only drawnback is that they sit at Trader Joes....warm. Freshness (in my experience) can make a big difference in how good these are. Fresh.....I prefer it to just about all of the big name and highly rated APA's on this site for its flavor:value ratio.....and we get some pretty good ones around Chicago.

    Totally agree, this was a fantastic beer and gets very little recognition.

    Abbatia Octo 8, a collaboration between Manayunk and Iron Abbey. As the name implies it's a belgian style dubbel. Flavor profile is a bit thin but it's a very solid beer.
