    Taking the day off to go to this year's Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival.

    Time to kick things off right. Canned 10/2. This one's a 6.9% WCIPA with Mosaic and Citra. Perfect for the sunny weather that's peeking out - I'll bring more cans to the festival.

    This beer isn't as dank as I'd like, but it definitely does bring the fruitier notes (orange, pineapple) layered on top of pine. Cheers and happy Friday!

    First I was working today. Then I was told on Tuesday to take Friday off. Then I was told Wednesday to come on into work. Finally, the last word via text on Thursday was take Friday off. Okay...not feeling threatened, just relief...Mrs. Goot and I are heading to Santa Fe and Ojo Caliente tomorrow for a few days...



    This barrel-aged barleywine is a brute at 13.0%. Thick and malty with a decidedly boozy quality. Good overall...

    A Black Note from 2014 after a morning haircut and some beer shopping. While I'm spoiled with some very good nearby breweries, the retail end is lacking with choices and freshness. This bottle is still really good after four and a half years with nice bourbon/oak/vanilla. Happy weekend!

    Over in the UK and I'm just indulging in a Founders Porter. Fabulous beer. For it's style hits all the right notes. Even over here it is only £3 a bottle. One of my all time favourites.

    Going back to some Pahlay'Ahlay from Fair State while jazzin' and throbbin' to the pulse and roar of V-22 Ospreys thundering through the neighborhood for the past hour...and there were a couple of relatively ancient F-15s overhead (CAP mission?)...
