I’m pretty sure all of the Frooted series lately had sold out in 90 minutes or so. I’m expecting this to be a crazy release and it’ll sell out as fast as the More crew can process the transactions.

Thanks Croush! I’ll make sure to Leave early then! When do you think I should arrive and start waiting in line?

A true Wow... What were the 22oz bombers? $18? I prefer the large format for bottle share purchases but I think most will find this to be good news. Pretty exciting Saturday ahead

I approve. Fair price and comparable to BCBS....

It isn't barrel-aged, so the price seems a bit high to me at $50 a four-pack. Still I applaud a few tiptoes toward more consumer-friendly pricing and volume.

Damn, I was planning on sleeping in tomorrow. I guess I'll grab something out of the cellar for the line in the morning

I'm going to play it by ear. If I wake up and it's raining, and there are 400+ people in line, there's a strong chance I'm just going to roll back over, mumbling "That's the way of the road."

Sorry if this has been asked before but, where would you guys say is the best place to park? I know the lot and surrounding area will likely be full way before the release.

Fuuuuuuck. Was thinking about meeting a buddy at More tonight. Now I might as well just stay overnight.

The price is comparable to BCBS but charging that much for a non-BA beer is not really that fair. Sure, it will sell out instantly and more power to the brewery but comparing it to BCBS pricing is not a valid comparison for me.

It's a shame but beer is just getting to be way to expensive.

Maybe you should just enjoy your Saturday instead of waiting in the rain for a beer that is probably not better than something you can find at Binnys?

More is a small company. They don't have the scale of Goose Island. The best news is you get 2 servings now!

Whoops on my end. I thought that it was a barrel aged beer. What are all the crazies lining up for this for if it isn't BA? Price it a $10 a can and it would be fair...

Ah yes, all "small" breweries cannot produce stouts for less than $12.50 a can

For the price, may as well buy a sixer of Xocoveza or maybe two Prairie Bombs, both of which are probably a little less good but not enough to matter. Lest we forgot the days that Bomb was impossible to find.
Yeah, I'm not buying this, literally and figuratively. This is them embracing capitalism, and as others have said, more power to them. I just don't think it's commendable on any level.
I know you've been preaching it forever, but it really is coming to pass with More, Mikerphone, and Goose Island leading the charge locally. Can't wait to hear how beer is a luxury item, and that if you can't afford it don't buy it, which completely misses the point and is a concept we all obviously understand.

I appreciate that this is something I have become known for here now

And actually funny you mention Xocoveza, I legit had one last weekend and was blown away by how good it is (I've had it before but it had been a while). What a great beer. And look, I get buying expensive beer, I've definitely done it. I used to buy a ton of Bomb when I was living in Texas years ago, because outside of Jester King, there was literally not another brewery that was distributed in Texas that was close to the quality. But seriously, we live in Chicago in 2018, there are a ton of beers that are of comparable quality that are available on shelves without waiting in lines. Especially on a rainy Saturday.

Ultimately though, my point has always been about your last one. Maybe it's because we've both been involved in craft beer for at least a decade at this point, so we've seen the progression of the industry. If you're new to it, I somewhat get the mindset of "well it's the best so obviously the brewery should charge $25-30 a bomber for their non-BA pastry stout. If you don't want to wait in line for it you obviously don't deserve it as much as me. If you don't want to spend $25-30 on the best beer you clearly don't care as much as me." It's just not an attitude that was at all common in the scene when I first got into it, and I know things will always change, but I just want to try and remind people of all the great beer being made available in this city that you can just go and pick up.
