Synopsis - Bright, effervescent, clear-cut crisp perfection…biggest regret is not grabbing 64oz of this oaked, smoked ham delight with mannerisms of wheat, citrus zest, complex herbal spices, and that bready malt sensation



It’s funky, earthy, and well incorporated @ 3.8% + carb and feel are on point = One of the finer discoveries in recent memory/hope to revisit the portfolio soon

 

that grodziskie was a treat. Only regret was not thinking to buy a growler. It would be incredible next to some brats in the backyard

 

Grabbed a pint of Grodziskie this evening...just not my style of beer. Really enjoy Dovetail’s Rauchbier so I’m sure it’s just my tastebuds not vibing with the style.

 

Perhaps not for everyone, but it is definitely a huge fave of mine, both the style and this specific beer.

Before writing the style off, try Fritz Briem's version as well as Off Color 15ft. I wish there were more available.

Super excited for Oktoberfestiversary. Anyone else going? I'll be in an Off Color Wisconsin Opossums shirt.

 

Too busy to make it up there this weekend, but that does sound pretty fun.

 

Just popping in to say that will be Oktoberfesting this weekend, rain or shine (we'll have plenty of tents available to at least make sure rain doesn't get into your beers, and our taproom will be open). There are also some special things that may interest some folks:

• At 2pm on Saturday, we'll be tapping a gravity keg of Festbier, as per tradition in Munich -- O'zapft is!

• We'll also have a one-and-two year blend of our spontaneous beer on draft -- we only blended four barrels, so unsure how long it will stay on in the taproom after the weekend. It's a young-ish blend, but it shows a nice, light funk and pineapple-y Brett character, with moderate acidity. It's pretty drinkable, if I do say so myself

• At 4pm on Saturday in our garage (cave, cellar, we haven't figured out what to call it), Hagen and Bill will be giving a casual talk and tasting around lager beers; on Sunday at 4p, they'll talk and taste while chatting about the spontaneous beers of the Senne Valley.

• Kids are welcome! There will be activities throughout the day on Saturday (I believe pumpkin painting is on the agenda)

I’m hoping to make it. My kids want to go see the last band on Sunday as well because it’s their music teacher’s band (I saw them perform a few songs once and they were pretty entertaining). So, I guess I’ll go in order to make the kids happy?

This is the best news I've heard all day. The number of times I've went to the store and just wanted a 6 pack of Lager... whew how exciting

 

I’m hoping those labels include Rauchbier & Dunkel.

The petit Gueuze is great. Will be better with another year blended in of course, but it's already one of the most authentically Belgian takes in the States.

My only gripe is just a touch too much bitter oak. Other than that, excellent.

 

Hello, this morning we decided we wanted to throw a little "just because" party, so we're gonna tap a gravity keg of Altbier tonight at 6:30pm in the taproom. We got some sweet new Stanges to serve it in, too, so it's proper Düsseldorf style. Your weekend is an hour longer this week, so why don't you spend some of that extra time with us?
