Finally have a chance to revisit this after 5 years. Have not seen it on the shelf for that long. This is awesome! Great lasting head retention/soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with balanced caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, light nutty/roasted malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, minimal warming 8.7%. Great classic Amarillo/Columbus profile. Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; great balanced dark/biscuity malt backbone, mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Spot on stuff as expected. Hope we see it more often finally. 4.1

Excellent pumpkin ale as usual. Aromas and flavors of big cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, gingerbread, biscuit, light coconut/fruitiness, and herbal spice earthiness. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warmed. Light herbal/cinnamon bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; creamy/silky/bready malts; some sticky spices and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness, no cloying/astringency. Very smooth, minimal warming 8.4% or barrel booze. Awesome balance of rich malts, spices, and bourbon barrel presence/integration all around. Nothing overwhelming! Would buy again.

Amazing NEDIPA as usual. Glad we finally got more in distro. Aromas and flavors of huge passion fruit, papaya, peach, pear, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, guava, berry, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon/orange zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, white bread dough malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, floral, grassy, citrus peel/rind bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body. Bready/grainy wheat/oat creaminess and some hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, never astringent. Dangerously drinkable for the ABV. Minimal warmth of 9%. Super juicy hops with some dankness; balanced malts, not overly sweet/heavy feeling for the ABV. Love all Ellison IPAs, but this is my favorite. Hope they make it more often moving forward.

BBA Plow Horse. This is tasting amazing this year as usual. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark bread; with light notes of molasses, raisin, cherry, smoke, and peppery yeast. Very slight touch of booze in the aromas as it warms. Light roast bitterness and yeast/oak tannin spice on the finish. Very full bodied and medium carbonation; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, rich mouthfeel; light chalky roast, oak tannins, and drying. Very smooth, mildly warming 12%, minimal barrel booze. Not quite as silky smooth as last year's batch, but definitely glad I got a bunch of packs along with Wizard Burial Ground as always.

This is my last one of these beers. I bought a whole bunch of it when it was released. I look forward to the next Fresh Coast variant. Hopefully they will go with the turkey and blueberry variant that I keep suggesting.

Light yellow color with small white cap and lacing.

Aroma of mild grain spiced with clove and flavored with banana/vanilla.

Taste exactly as it smells with a round evenness that speaks of a well brewed product. In order of prominence I get clove, banana and then vanilla. Not too strong, any of them, yet definitely center stage with grain and hops playing backup. There is this ever so slight citric tartness that's just enough to balance things out.

Great fights last night were soured by ridiculous behavior on the part of Khabib's camp... This can of Smile, You're Beautiful ended up being my closer, since I had an early rise and errands on the agenda today...
Rare that I pull the trigger on a PPV event, but I just couldn't miss this fight, and I'm so glad I didn't - the Ferguson Pettis fight was a bloodbath, the Reyes OSP fight was a great showcase for up-and-comer Reyes, Lewis delivered a stunning finish in his match with Volkov, and the Karate hottie was great in her win over Herrig...

That Khabib McGregor fight was awesome - as many projected, Conor had no answer for Khabib's ground game, especially once Khabib landed a shot to Conor's jaw that forced him to respect his striking, too... I didn't expect the tap-out on the neck crank, but I think it was just a matter of time anyway... What no one expected was the lack of professionalism displayed by the Khabib team, who, up to that point, were the classier act of the two... And if you hear Khabib's explanation, he seems confused because he thinks it was less awful than Conor's behavior in the past... Real disappointed in the man since he seemed to be taking the higher ground. Seems like both of these guys still act like angry teenagers who don't know how to handle themselves like real men in the world beyond their ring. Such a shame.

    *end rant*

Drinking this delicious stout from Greenport Harbor...
