Went to CBC Fenway today. They had sold out of the Banana Coconut (DAMMIT), but grabbed a Hubbard's Cave Coco Van and the latest Toppling Goliath bombers to hit our shelves (Imperial Golden Nugget and Thresher).

I forgot to say they were selling the Dragon’s milk fast. You could try a Gordon’s or Total Wine were limited release beer tends to stick around longer. I would call first.

Picked up some of Mayflower's Homecoming brown ale today and it is fantastic. It's a bit darker and more roasty and less sweet than your average brown I think. Almost has one foot in the porter pond.

Pretty much a perfect fall beer if you're into the season matching thing.

This was my favorite fall beer last year. Was glad to see they decided to do it again this year. Picked some up today.

Also picked up some Bells Black Note today... what's everyone else paying for that? Paid $20 at Total Wine. Figure I need to try it once.

I believe I paid $20 as well and it's absolutely worth that price point. A really nice beer that I'm excited to have on shelves

Separately... I've had Dragons Milk dozens of times but it's been a while so I just grabbed a sixer the other day. It might not be the thickest stout, but I'll be damned if it's not tasting delicious these days. So smooth with some nice barrel taste and barely any heat

Boulevard Whiskey Barrel Stout is another good one in that vein.

Coincidentally I picked up a couple singles of this as well. I was really craving a brown ale yesterday, it was a brown ale type of day.

Spot on description, and it's sessionable too at 5%.

I also picked up some St. Georgen Brau Kellerbier (canned by B. United in the US just like Schlenkerla and the rest), this is quite tasty too. Canned 8/20 I think.

Another tasty brew, and a perennial US favorite for Oktoberfests each year is the Otter Creek/Camba Bavaria collab.

Finally, in the same vein as the Mayflower, I picked up a single of Smoke and Dagger. Felt fall-ish, and I haven't had in forever. I never picked up much smoke in this beer before, but man, it was a nice touch to this Schwarzbier-type lager. Not overly done, just enough smoke that doesn't get in the way of the rest of the beer. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel if I recall correctly too, but it wasn't a nitro can...I don't think at least.

I love Dragons Milk, Black Note, & the Boulevard Whisky Barrel Stout. Any others in that vein I might have missed? Nothing better than well priced, easy to acquire BA stouts. Like Lagunitas Willetized stout will be the best deal you ever find at $12 per 6.

W00tstout is kind of in that vein now since they moved to 12oz bottles but it isn't around all year. Sunday Morning is another good one. BA unearthed is decent too. But nothing will beat the Lagunitas. grabbing a few sixers of that.

Grabbed some at CBC Newton today, looks like they had a decent amount left.
Central Waters' BA stouts aren't bad either (Bourbon Barrel Stout, Peruvian Morning, Cassian Sunset). I feel like we don't get drops too often, but they tend to sit for a while.

Had the CWs & the SMS mentioned above. Those are great, & I revisit them from time to time. Dont think I have ever had BA Unearthed. Will be on the lookout.

It’s a bit less boozy this year- but maybe that’s why I always dug it before??

I thought it was just OK this year, would definitely still put the German Festbiers in front of it. Hoffbrau was my fave this year followed by Paulaner Wiesn.

Some 4-packs of Sixpoint BA Righteous hanging around at the Burlington Wegmans, $14.99. Also, lots of Founders Better Half, $16.99 per 4-pack. Better Half and Trader Joe's Cookie Butter is a pretty solid pairing.

Ballast Point Peanut Butter Victory at Sea appears to be popping up at a variety of places now too.

Wondering if MA will see any of this. Has anybody seen this around here?

Can't say for certain, but what I've garnered from the distributor is that we probably won't be getting Good Gourd or Marshal this year. Even the amount of Cubano Mass has gotten so far has been nominal. Hoping things improve though.

Fort Hill gets praise, and rightly so, for their tasty and well-priced IPA/DIPAs but their marzen, Red Prince, for $7.99 a sixer is drinking and looking great. Earthy, nutty, malty and smooth as all hell - a real local gem.

Solid Redstone Stoneham haul of some new stuff to hit the shelves. Hubbard's Cave Fresh IIPA One Hop Citra ($16.99 for a 4-pack) and French Toast ($16.94 for a 750ml), and Ballast Point Peanut Butter Victory at Sea ($11.99 for a 6-pack).

Edit: The Hubbard's Cave DIPA is ridiculously good.

    You love Imperial stouts huh?

I also like how you posted this, and then 7 minutes later had at least began drinking the double IPA, if not finished it.
