What beer are you drinking now? #2180

I believe I’m back on East Coast time; awoke normal time, took the dogs for their walk, had some coffee and a snack...time for more coffee - CW’s “Cassian Sunset” (2017):



Black with ruby edges, off white fizzy foam and a quick cap; thin ring; only on swirl micro dots of lace and thin legs. Dark macerated cherries, bittersweet dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans nose and taste; Bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon in the background. Medium lite body, moderate carbonation;dry, oaky tongue coating; slight warmth. Overall the coffee and barrel flavors seem to have faded - still plenty tasty; and, as usual, drinks a bit thin for 10.5%. Nevertheless, I never tire of this beer.

We are off to the Tuesday morning market in Gulfport before the hurricane sideswipes us and dumps a bunch of rain the next couple of days...Cheers and have a great day y’all!

 

This is absolutely delicious. I only scored one can of this but it has a sick, thick feel. Strong, dank citric taste into a really strong ripened mango finish. Minimal booze for 10%. Impressive. A little nap after this, I’m back to overnights, and today, back to the dog, his possible location and I may hit the phones. My father-in-law put about 7 “traps” and 2 of them have definite dog prints so there’s still hope and we have plenty of people looking.

 

Thanks man this is crazy. Since Friday, it’s been either my dog or work, nothing else. We’ve had so much help from such random people...dog people really are a special bunch.

 

Grimm flash forward Absolutely delicious. One of the juiciest pale ales I've had... Grimm is putting out gems every since they opened their brewery

In-laws arriving today for a visit. Not a bad thing. I have a great relationship with them.
This is a superb beer.

 

Rich gold color with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of bright citrus (can't really tell what) that's zesty and fresh.

Fullsome flavor of solid malt with citrus hops dominant. Fairly simple flavors but strong and straight forward. Not really complex but there's a lot of flavor packed into this one. I do get a hit of tangerine in the aftertaste.

 

An early start with a trip to Home for light fixtures and electrical supplies. It's beer and the end of Dan Patrick before heading to the basement. This years KBS is holding up quite well with plenty of dark roast and chocolate. Cheers barflies!
