Haven't had it in a few years, but it wasn't bad as I recall.

Looking for a new beer this late afternoon. @FFFjunkie sent so many big bottles, it's tough to find easy weekday fare - that's a real first world beer nerd problem, right there! I guess a 16 oz can of 8.5% stout will have to do. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

18th Street Hunter double milk stout - Vanilla vertical series

This beer is a little shocking on the palate at first, especially if you're not expecting an English-style stout - which I wasn't. The presentation of the roasted malt and yeast is very different - presents a very different bitterness, different flavor - than the big adjunct American double stouts to which we've all become accustomed.

As soon as I got used to that, though, I found this is a delectable stout. It's rich and creamy, and the vanilla (and cacao) add a very nice and even subtle component to the profile.

    4.35 / +1.6%

This is now my 5th beer from 18th Street - all from NBS BIFs, I'm fairly certain. It's my highest rated, too.

    Thanks Dan; cheers gang!

Picking out a winner for my LIF, having to weed through and try not to send to one of you guys that are already getting 100+ lbs of beer already from "non-official" senders haha

    No objection here.

Oh, man. When @FFFjunkie threatened me earlier, I instantly started rocking in the fetal position (as much as my fat belly will allow). I'm not sure you can understand the damage done to my home and psyche, and soon my liver. It's possible that none of them survive this.

    Don't I owe you a box anyhow?

Digging back into @strohme2 box I could not hold off I am splitting this with my wife with teh agreement I get some of her rum coconut!!! Banana Coconut Dragon's Milk, if you like sweet stouts you will like this. Do not expect a ton of coconut but there is a ton of banana. I like sweet stouts so this is right up my alley!! Thanks Justin!!

Appearance 4.25 - Pours black with thick dense tan head that settles to a thick cap with sheets of lacing.

Aroma 4 - Huge banana up front, not getting a ton of coconut, little bourbon and maybe a hint of oak. The banana adds a sweet aroma that dominates the nose.

Taste 4.5 - Taste reminds me of banana pudding, tons of banana, very mild coconut, chocolate, bourbon is a little more pronounced than in the nose.

Feel 4.5 - High side of medium smooth, slightly creamy. Getting some warming from the alcohol nice finish.

Overall 4.32 - I really like this one, like liquid banana pudding in a glass. Flavors work well together little sweet maybe but tasty.

    It's called Cappelletti Sfumato-
    [IMG]

I first found it at Astor Wines in the city, which has an insane amount of amari in stock. But lately I've even seen it at some local places, so keep an eye out if you're interested.

Fwiw, this just goes to further my observation that amari/bitters seem to be an 'up and coming' thing. 10 years ago I'd consider myself lucky just to find Averna or Ramazzotti on a shelf, and nowadays not only are those commonplace, there also seem to be a few more unusual ones sitting beside them.

    @SammyJaxxxx

It was a cold shitty day at work. This box was on my porch when I got off. I seriously did not think the box would contain what it did. I am stunned and blown away. You sir are too kind, serious respect. Will post pictures in a few. Need to finish doing a few things.

No such thing. But thats ok! If i do send anything, it'll be a tiny(actually, not what others here consider tiny) box with some easy going cans, including one of particular light style i RAVE about that I've been eating to send around for a while =p Have some stuff I wanna send, but those can wait a couple months for restructuring and liver transplant purposes

So I get a call from the Mrs that someone put another shot down range on our stoop.

Except this time I recognized the name when I asked her where it came from.

@Blackop555 you got anything to say for yourself?

Damage pics as soon as I get home to survey them!

Hell yeah! What an incredible little place! I got this button there-
    [IMG]
as well as a mental list of other amari to look out for.

I keep telling my dad I need to get him over there- he's the one who introduced me to the stuff after all. I think I'll just take a vacation day and do it some time next spring...
