    Picked up a six yesterday . . .

Deep, rich amber gold color with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of caramel malt dusted with spicy hops. That doesn't sound like much but malt is strong in this one.

Flavor is malt forward with great depth and complexity. It isn't just malt, it's malt personified with a wieldy room filling presence. I quite like it and this may be my eventual choice over those that preceded it. Sweetness is present yet in a restrained way that complements the flavor profile rather than being a defining influence. Hops are there like Rococo flourishes on the edge of a large gilded frame which is to say they're noticed but don't really draw attention away from the main picture.

Finally dinner is ready and the beverage of choice is a good not too heavy stout.
Sundby Stout from Amager Bryghus at 6.2% ABV. Half of it went into dinner, the other half went into a glass. Had a go at beer-braised pork cheeks and it is delicious!

[IMG] Pipe Dream Galaxy Hoppin’ 9% DIPA not sure when it was canned, but very recent. Pours a slightly cloudy dark orange with a finger plus sticky off white head that leaves a thin wall of lace as it slowly settles. 4.25

Smell is apricot, tangerine, caramel, pineapple, and grapefruit rind. 4

Taste follows apricot and tangerine start the party, with some pineapple and grapefruit in the bold, yet balanced finish. 4

Mouthfeel is big and sticky, soft slightly gritty mouthfeel, with enough carbonation, and bold flavor that still drinks easy at 9%. 4.25

Overall this is a East/West Coast highbred for me, bold tropical flavors with some bite. 4

Rain out at work today and since my maid & I are in a dispute over who's the father of her child....I'm doing my own housecleaning this afternoon.

What goes better with housecleaning than a beer? A maid, that's what!

Mrs. Z has caught a cold, so I made her some chicken noodle soup (quick and easy trick - boil several pieces of leftover fried chicken for your base liquid/flavoring!). Back from the pharmacy and ready to drink beer - Jai Alai this blustery afternoon:

A round of golf after a week off. Not great, but I won all the money.

On the balcony with Jai Alai #2. It’s 86 degrees and 90% humidity...I feel for the folks who have lost/are about to lose their electricity.

Good thing there is a strong breeze today or else I wouldn’t drink outside. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to all in the panhandle and SGA!

Finishing off the last of my Demon Dwellers as we speak. I would commit dark deeds to get this in a six pack.

Pretty good tap list at my local joint... as much as your boy loves ticking, when he sees it, you know he gets it...
