Great so what does this mean for my visit on Friday night? Will it still be mellow around 8pm or will the shit show from the release carry over?

I definitely dont mind if there are no cans available (crowlers are fine), I just dont want to spend much time there as I am only making a pit stop on the way north.

Haven’t been to a release, so can’t say. But why not just stop at Suarez instead?

Unfortunately they close at 7pm on Fridays and I won’t be leaving Long Island until 6pm due to my girlfriends schedule.

Sounds like you’ll be getting to HVB after things die down then.

Already have way too much beer in my fridge but have an opportunity to grab a six pack of each Silho this weekend that I don't want to pass up as I've been wanting to try this series for a while.

My question is, how long do HV Sour IPAs typically last? Do they last a good amount longer because of the sour profile?

    if you mean shelf-life/aging-wise...
my experience is that the ipa qualities fade out first along with some of the adjuncts, but 99% of the time youre left with a great canned sour. entheogen is maybe the only one i can think of that got muddy and weird after a few weeks.

@ONovoMexicano brought me three cans of the tangerine variant a couple weeks ago. Thought they were delicious. Won’t need to worry about shelf life cos you’ll drink them all so quickly.

These all sound great. That said, a Chocolate Chip Banana Pancake Brunch-Style Sour IPA w/ raw wheat, malted oat, maple syrup, chocolate and banana purée; hopped with citra and azacca - sounds like a parody craft beer that you’d read about in The Onion

After Magnify's breakfast series and seeing Bolero Snort's stuff on shelves, I've become so desensitized to this stuff. This is truly the state of craft beer in 2018.

That was my hope. I should arrive around 8. Just not sure how many people line up for these releases and how long it takes to process said line; or if there is much spillover into the taproom after a release.

The Proletariat takeover list is here. Demiurge is on it. Not sure if it will be somewhat of a shit show because of that.

It could be a shit show because the service at Proletariat has gone to absolute shit. There are a few bartenders there that love chatting and looking cool over doing their damn job. When you have a bartender standing in front of you chatting for 10 minutes without taking order or even a simple “I’ll be right with you,” I’m not sure how they will efficiently handle a horde of beer geeks.

On another note, Feel No Way and Feel No Way Lite are pretty damn stellar.

I love Proletariat but would probably avoid it for an event like this and go Sunday for leftovers or something.

Will these beers being released be available on draft Saturday at the brewery?

High probability, based on my somewhat limited experience.

How are this weekend's releases tasting? Banana pancake getting surprisingly great reviews

They both capture what they’re going for, though the banana was lacking in the Pancake one (is this BakingAdvocate?). I did not enjoy either of them, as I felt the pancake one had a weird dullness and muddling and the Cider variant was excessively spiced. Kinda like a pumpkin beer that went ham on the nutmeg.

Peach Silhouette is the shit, though, especially if you’re in the mood for tart peach juice. Hylozoa was really nice as well.

I would like to visit the brewery sometime not during a release. I don’t do lines anymore. What is there growler policy? Is it 2pp? Is there anywhere I can check? Don’t see it on their website

No growler fills. They have prefilled crowlers for take away beer. They usually keep their beermenus updated. https://www.beermenus.com/places/40502-hudson-valley-brewery
