Good morning BAs! Today's New Breakfast Beer, courtesy of @Bum4ever and NBS BIF #8:



Best Mikkeller brew I've had to date.

 

This is tasting amazing. Despite everything going on in life, it is Friday, and my work week is now over so a delicious ipa is in order.

 

something substantial on this chilly morning . . .







Deep golden color with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of pine, citrus zest and ripe tropical fruit.

Taste is hop forward with a zingy fresh, edgy hop sharpness that while being aggressive is also quite flavorful. I don't get as much tropical fruit in the taste as I do in the scent but it's there in an underlying capacity. Relatively simple flavors but the whole comes across as complex and finishes dry. A beer that makes you sit back and think then quickly take another swallow.

Full texture with balancing carbonation.

Brewer's web site says this is their hoppiest beer yet and I won't argue. It's not just bitterness, this one is complex and balanced and presents it's aggressive hop forwardness with almost an air of sophistication.

You're on a real Sierra kick I have noticed

 

Around here we have to take advantage of what's available. In fact only one store got an allotment of 2018 Hoptimum and being on the email list I was able to get there in time to buy the last six pack. This is an exceptional beer. I actually bought two 12 packs of the Southern Hemisphere because I wouldn't see them again.

 

Mid morning pick me up . . .




Light golden color with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of rich malt and slightly herbal spicy hops.

Taste is hop forward with a firm, herbal approach that's both bracing and refreshing. A fairly complex beer brewed from just a few ingredients which goes to show what can be done by those with honed brewing skill sets.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

A good beer in the Pils style that executes the style well.

 

Mrs. Z had some dental surgery done this morning. We are home now, and she is doing great. Some coffee for me, please:
