5 year revisit. This is amazing! Lasting head retention and thick soapy lacing. Flavors of huge caramel, brown sugar, maple syrup, toffee, bourbon, vanilla, coconut, toasted oak, golden raisin, plum, fig, apricot, cherry, red apple, and biscuit dough; with lighter notes of molasses, leather, herbal/grassy/peppery hops, and yeast eartiness. Similar aromas, a bit of booze as it warms, but not overwhelming. Light herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness; and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy/silky malts; some sticky hops, oak tannins; and light slickness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness, no cloying/astringency. Dangerously smooth, mildly increasing warmth of 12.7%, minimal barrel booze. This is just as impressive as I remember. Amazingly rich malt complexity, balanced fruity yeast, and perfect barrel integration; with solid earthy hop balance against sweetness. I think this showcases the maple syrup character better than CBS, easily. Feels more prominent. Base beer is one of my favorite old ales, I hope they bring it back soon. 4.33

Fantastic! Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, maple syrup, wood smoke, brown sugar, toffee, molasses, nuttiness, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of vanilla, charcoal, leather, cherry, raisin, prune, berry, and herbal/peppery hops. Light roast/char and herbal/wood/spicy bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is amazing. Light sticky hops, chalky char/roast, and increasing bitter/roasted dryness. Never acrid/astringent. Dangerously smooth, mildly increasing warmth of 11.1%. Super rich and complex with fantastic balance between coffee, maple syrup, and black/roast malts. Not nearly as impressive as any of the Beer geek 10+% offerings, but still really outstanding.

Happy anniversary, @Sawdog. My eleventh was last Sunday. Maybe I should have had the beer I'm drinking this morning then.

This is excellent as I remember last year. Glad they went to cans(year round). Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread dough malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and moderately crisp. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Some resins/rinds, increasing dryness, no hop astringency. Pretty refreshing for an IPA. Really great balanced dank/earthy/piney and citrus/tropical hop vibrancy; with a nice malt backbone, and minimal residual sweetness. Feels a bit more dank and resinous than I remember in bottles, but it's fine by me. Azacca, Mosaic, Citra, Warrior, Simcoe, & Calypso hops. Will definitely buy again.

Insane NE DIPA as always, glad it is back for the season. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, grapefruit, guava, lemon, citrus zest, berry, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very minimal pine, zesty, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied creamy, bready, grainy wheat/oats in the mouthfeel. Slight hop stickiness, with a touch of increasing lingering bitter dryness. Zero hop astringency. Dangerously drinkable for 9.3%, minimal warming ABV. One of the absolute best in the style I've had, smoothness is unmatched. Pure citrus/tropical fruit juice hop flavors, with a touch of dankness. Never overly sweet/heavy feeling on malts for the ABV; perfectly balanced. Super soft mouthfeel. Old Nation definitely has the best MI NEIPAs.

I had to save this Michigan beer from @superspak for today! Where are you at @Zaphog and @beergorrilla? The Wisconsin Badgers will actually bring their special teams with to Michigan, unlike the Green Bay Packers. It is going to be quite an evening!

Awesome Oktoberfest as usual. Great head retention/lacing, crystal clarity. Aromas and flavors of big cracker, white bread dough/crust, lightly toasted biscuit, and light honey/nutty malts; with light pepper, herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/bready/grainy Munich malts and light sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying/astringency. Extremely flavorful and pretty refreshing, 6%. Very smooth. Perfectly clean lagering, not fruity/yeasty notes. They nailed it like every year. Feels more like a proper amber marzen, unlike last years festbier. Very clean and rich pale/Munich malt complexity, with mild balancing noble hops against sweetness. I always buy a pack every year. Might grab another one. I've had every vintage since it was first bottled.

We just got Horny Goat in the state. This is excellent! Aromas and flavors of big peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, fudge, brown sugar, vanilla, graham cracker, toasted dark bread, and herbal/light peppery hops. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; nice bready creaminess in the mouthfeel. Lightly silky, chalky roast, and hop stickiness. Lightly increasing bitter/roasted dryness, no acrid/astringent flavors. Super drinkable. Impressively rich malt complexity, with great PB/chocolate presence and balance. Love it the same as the imperial. Basically identical, but this is a little more intense on roast/coffee notes and earthy hop presence. Spot on for an American Porter. Got a 6 pack, reviewed this last year from a trade. Will get again for sure. I love PB beers.

    Good morning, BA

Just finished up some Spider Man waffles (blueberry and strawberry) topped with Vermont Maple Syrup aged in rye barrels.

Now I’m onto my first Pollyanna beer courtesy of @Jason1221

The nose is all chocolate candy bar. It’s a sweet nose, but not overbearing. The peanut really shines through, which I like. The flavor profile is more subtle and it’s less sweet. I would never guess this was aged in a bourbon barrel.

Alright, back to Disney Junior while I finish up a full review.

    Congratulations @SawDog505 on your anniversary.

Light lemon yellow color with white cap that disappears almost before you can take a sip.

Very mild aroma of ripe bananas with a bit of spice.

Taste is slightly tart, slightly sour, ripe yellow fruit with a touch of clove and something herbal. I don't know if there is grain other than malt because this tastes and finishes dry without any of the usual AAL grain sweetness or fullness. It's as mild and as dry as a Belgian table beer.

Just less than medium texture with some carbonation but not enough to fully balance.

Brewer calls this a light American style lager and I agree with the light part. It weighs in at 3.90 ABV but I don't know why they market it as a lager because it has the taste, aroma and flavors of a light golden Belgian Table Ale and anyone who knows a bit about beer will immediately pick up on that. I, and others, have come to think this brewer has a house yeast that gives Belgian like results that is also noticeable in their other brews.
