So, the sign they are (pre) selling is pretty cool...

 

I think the sign looks better than it is. I would love to see it in person before forking our 150

 

What's the verdict on Paisley? The untappd crowd is eating it up. Cracking one open tonight but curious if anyone has had it from the bottle or draft yet.

 

I'll answer my own question. This is a top BL beer for me. Blueberry is prominent and the extra time in the barrels since WoL has done this beer many favors. I tried this right out of the refrigerator, 20 min later, and room temperature and a slight chill (20 min or so) was the sweet spot for me. I'm not getting a lot of marshmallow but that's okay, the beer is great as is.

Stopped by and grabbed bottles. Was just too packed to try the beer, not to mention having the baby with us doesn't make it any easier. Hopefully I'll get a pour on tap!

 

I thought it had less blueberry and more bourbon on tap. I liked the WOL version better but I opened up a bottle and got more blueberry than on tap. Both tasted good but preferred out of the bottle because I got more blueberry.

 

Spot on. Not exactly overwhelming when cold, but this beast really opens up when it approaches room temperature.

 

I don't know what flavor I'm supposed to get from the marshmallow that's not just pure sugar, but I got this back end sweetness that wasn't blueberry. Maybe the cacao?

Either way, I liked it enough to get two pours on draft. Gonna have to crack one open this week to see if I like it better out of the bottle.

 

Any ideas for next release?

 

I've got lots of ideas, some stout-y, some porter-y, lots of adjuncts...

I don't think Bottle Logic wants any of them though...

 

I mean it is almost November, so darkstar November? But I suspect there may be a release beforehand.

 

Ahhhh... Since we're mid-October, and DSN is traditionally mid-November-ish, I think it's a safe bet there will be a release in between now and then. No idea what it would be, possibly something else new?!

 

When I picked up my paisley I noticed a Crowler of the hazy ipa was $18 and a 64 oz growler fill was $24. That pricing on the Crowler seems ubsurd. If the Crowler was $13-14 I probably would have got one but not at that upcharge. I’m not paying 75% of the price of a 64 oz fill for 50% of the beer, maybe 55-60%.

 

I wonder if they're doing those pumpkin ba beers again? Not wanting them, just curious...
