Another fairly disappointing beer from a place I've been trying to like (I could walk there from where I work.) Not horrible but nothing special.

Was pretty concerned that my 2nd Growler is Fat Heads Hopstalker would evaporate, so I decided to drink it immediately.

Woodgrain Four Roses Bourbon Barrel Ebony Imperial Stout, 11.9% ABV. Pours black with a ring of bubbles. Nose is bourbon and sweet chocolate, taste follows, plus slight licorice and slight roast malt bitterness. Excellent mouthfeel, overall excellent to near outstanding.

We're cheering for the Cardinals over the Vikings because we're Packer fans. We grilled burgers for lunch despite getting 2" of snow this morning, and have 10-alarm chili in the crockpot for supper.

Hazy, light orange gold color with white cap and lacing.

Fairly strong aroma of grapefruit and orange with a zesty sort of hop brightness.

Taste is hop forward consisting of somewhat floral citrus notes opening with a firm yet not bitter hop bite. This supported by a substantial amount of malt that I missed in the scent. The malt isn't a sweet sort, rather dry and crackery like Pilsner malt, yet there's plenty enough to carry the hops along. Fairly complex and balanced flavors that are consistent to the finish and linger a bit in the aftertaste. This is a brew of substance with poise and balance.

It appears to be, but I better make sure the beer at the bottom of the growler didn’t go bad.

Nice looking burger, but no bun? You dieting? What did you think of that beer, I thought it was pretty fair?
