Not so fast @miwestcoaster ! :sunglasses: Shaping up to be a helluva series, yes? I'm a lifelong Dodger fan (51 years now), but if the Good Guys don't make it, the Brewers are the next best thing in my book. Anytime a small market team does well baseball wins. Love Yelich, and I've always been a Craig Counsel fan.

    Go Dodgers!

Solomn Oath/Oktoberface. Thanks to the ever generous @mschrei for helping me on my quest to tick every marzen in the world. Cool can, too.

Brilliant copper body, a bit hazy. Two fingers of pillowy white head dies down slowly leaving a slight cap and a bit of lacing.
The aroma is faint bread and some honey sweetness. Big wafts of pine and grapefruit from the hops.
Bready, grainy in the taste. Some good honey sweetness up front before the hops show up. Grapefruit rind, pine and resin in full force here.
On the heavy side of medium with medium carbonation. Soft lager mouth feel up front, resin in the finish.

Unorthodox for sure but a good spin on the style. There is a marzen here for people that like the style and hops for people who don't. A very well made beer.
    Cheers, all.

It must be IPA Sunday. I am drinking Enjoy by 10.31.18 from Stone, ABV 9.40%, IBU 90. It's grapefruit, mango, floral hops notably significant pine resin, it's fresh and juicy tasting, and despite the ABV 9.4% there's no alcohol taste. It is very good. I like it better than the unfiltered Enjoy By, which had a garlic undertone (this one doesn't).

    NBS X-post #1:

Normal weekend for me as usual. 2 recent BIF trades are in, with another trade going out tomorrow. So I am good to go on reviews for a couple weeks. I was nearly running out as of last week.

    New Beer.

Awesome APA! Fantastic lasting head retention/lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big ruby grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/zest, mint, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, biscuit dough, light toasted malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, woody, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Some resins/rinds, moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, 5.2%. Awesome Mosaic/Crystal showcase. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone for the ABV, with no residual sweetness. Outstanding for the style. 4.13

First review, Strange Roots. Awesome saison. Good head retention, minimal lacing as expected. Aromas and flavors of big tart/sour lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, papaya, mango, melon, strawberry, guava, red/green apple, white grape/wine, peppercorn, oak, hay, straw, herbal, and grass; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bready malts; lighter notes of leathery/musty/lacto funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate lactic tang/tartness; peppery yeast, and oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, lactic acid, and oak tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing spicy, acidic, tangy, tannic dryness; no puckering. Very smooth, not overly lactic, minimal warming 6.4%. Outstanding Brett/Bacteria and Saison yeast complexity; nice oak presence and pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Spot on stuff. 4.1

I just discovered this band like a hour ago and I love it. Prog metal. Don't know many with a lead female vocalist.

Enjoyed the first slate of games today; glad to see the Steelers and Jets get wins even though I figured they'd both stumble today... With my main teams all mired in mediocrity or worse (*Giants*) so far, I'm basically jumping on the Rams bandwagon, and hoping they win today in Denver...

    Iceland rocks... \m/:angry:\m/

My first King Sue courtesy of @bstyle. I expected a lot given its World Class rating and it exceeded my expectation. It's one of the best DIPAs I've ever had the pleasure to drink. Thanks, Bobby!
