Really? Every second person I talk to complains about all the IPAs that no one wants in Cask. Most people I run into seem to think of the style isn’t British, it doesn’t taste good in Cask.

The less bitter an IPA is, the better.

You're talking to too many dumb people, man. That said, I'd LOVE to see more traditional British styles being made and served on cask.

Although bitterness shouldn't be the only thing, you need some for it to be a well-made beer, because an IPA without bitterness isn't an IPA.

I respect your opinion and completely understand that some specific styles are meant to be lighter than others. I don't go straight for the highest abv brews out there, they just happened to be some that were brought into the conversation. I typically stick to brews in the 7-8% range for daily drinkers but do enjoy the heavier ones when I know I don't have to be responsible the following day.

Then consider yourself part of the epidemic that is erasing the landscape of American brewing.

Why do I have to like everything everyone else likes? In what world would that be enjoyable? There would only be one style of beer if that were the case. And yes, I do have flaws, because I am a HUMAN! We are all flawed, your flaw is enjoying pilsners. Pretty sure there are things I like that you don't, does that make your taste inferior? No just means you enjoy something different, kinda what makes the world interesting.

I think most of the controversy was caused by the moronic statement in the original post you made that both pilsners and lagers are garbage. It is moronic in the way of someone saying I hate poodles, and I also hate dogs. But what do I know, I'm half witted.

Nothing makes my bowels shudder quite as much as someone who openly carries on about sours in a way that suggests they are somehow as the apex of sophistication.

When I see someone talking to themselves I always wonder WTF is going on, then I realize they must have been ensnared in an infinity loop by EMJ

Not even close man, just sharing some insight that's all. I would never waste an ounce of energy being mad about the opinion of some stranger on a beer forum, life is way to short for that crap.

If you had read any other posts that followed you would have noticed the original post was meant to read as "pilsners/lagers". Thanks for your contribution to the discussion!

As if that somehow makes the moronic aspect of it go away, that you didn't realize that pilsners are lagers. And the idea that all lagers are garbage is even more moronic.

My half witted semi controversial opinion is that you don't even know what the word lager means, have no clue how many lagers there are, and haven't tasted 80+% of them

Of course an IPA is going to have some degree of bitterness. It's inherent to the style. I'm just saying, the more astringently bitter it gets, the less pleasing it becomes. At some point, you might as well start eating citrus rinds, and review them like, "oh man this grapefruit skin is amazing! It's got a nice, dry bitter finish, bro".
