Solid again this year, roast coffee and bittersweet chocolate, and the price point is better than FBS. Cheers!

God afternoon BA! I finnally found some time to relax in front of the Xbox. I went to Sweden this weekend and picked up a couple of some of one the best IPA's I think I've ever tried.
Stigbergets Amazing Haze, 6.5% ABV NEIPA.
I got them dirt cheap compared to what I'd have to pay for them here in Copenhagen. On top of that it's only a few weeks old so it's super fresh. Cheers!

    Good morning BA
I picked up two southern Indiana wet hop beers this month and have been the first review of both.

This is a really nice beer from Upland. I'm normally not a big fan of what they do with hops, but these Side Trail beers have been good. Cheers all!

    Gotta start somewhere . . .

Golden red leaning more toward red color with light whitish cap.

A subtle aroma of ripe berry that is not immediately distinguishable as blackberry but the aroma is clean.

Taste is sharply tart but not mouth puckering. Again, can't really call it blackberry, more of a blackberry/raspberry/marionberry/dewberry mix but certainly berry. Also can't find a flavor for the underlying grain which strikes me as being there as a carrier for the berries. Flavors are simple and finish clean.

Fairly thin texture with balancing carbonation.

One of my favorite brews is Duchesse de Bourgogne Flanders Red Ale which I mention just to give an idea of my taste platform for sour beers generally. Compared to DdB most of the craft sour beers on the market that I've tasted fall short of the mark, this Sour Wench from Ballast Point being a case in point. Perhaps the best use for Sour Wench is take it to a party thrown by your Bud Light friends to spike up whatever you're served.

There is a day coming that I will have no more of these beers tucked away. Today is not that day...

Drinking a beer with my closest friends (pictured).

    Founders KBS

I needed a choice that I knew wouldn't disappoint me. KBS isn't my favorite beer of all time, but I know exactly what I'm going to get. 6 months of age has definitely helped to take some of the edge off, as well. I have one bomber left, but I don't think I'm going to let it get much over the year point.

    Cheers!

A quality morning run followed by another trip to Home Depot. These projects never end and they're chipping into the beer budget! A can of Fremont Field to Ferment Simcoe while I wait for it to warm up so I can bury wire for a couple outdoor outlets. Thinking ahead for the Christmas decorations! This years Fremont fresh hop series is as good as ever. I wish I could have found the citra hopped version too, but the simcoe is top shelf. Cheers barflies.....

I totally agree with your assessment. I had a couple from that series before I moved and enjoyed them. They should brew more of that series and less Dragonfly. Save the hops!
