Odell, new Belgium, deschutes, odd13, epic, Firestone, BBC, modern times, old nation, land locked, mikkeller and to0l all crowd shelves around here. Old nation and modern times are my go to.

So far it sounds like Old Nation M-43 is current king of the distributed / store NEIPAs right now based on the feedback so far. I just checked out my ratings and completely forgot I had this beer (friend got it as a trade bonus beer and split it with me about a month ago). Never heard of it before so no hype at all in my rating influence and I gave it a 4.67 rating so yeah, its legit.

It's only available in Michigan right now, but very readily. You can literally find it almost anywhere beer is sold. Right now, you can also find its big brother Boss Tweed in most stores. Unless you live or drive by Transient on a regular basis, these are the only NEIPA in Michigan that you need to worry about.

I’ve tried most the widely distributed shelf haze at this point (SA, NB, etc.). My favs are Hazy Little Thing, Long Trail’s VT IPA, and Epic (especially the “Lupulin Burst” variant). However, my problem with these beers is that while they get much of the feel of a NEIPA down (soft mouthfeel, low bitterness, juicy flavors), they all seem to be seriously lacking in hops compared to the “limited 16oz can” stuff (Aslin, Treehouse, Veil, etc..). Don’t know if this is a freshness thing, the amount of hops used, or what...

I agree, the line-standing release NEIPA brewers you mentioned are definitely doing it a full tier better in quality/taste/aroma/mouthfeel etc. better, but several of the widely distributed ones on shelves being mentioned are still quite solid IPAs that can be enjoyed by many people, for less money, more convenient to acquire and satisfying at least. Just not that "holy crap this is amazing" reaction you get when smell/taste something from one of the big dog NEIPA makers but still they leave you feeling "man our beer makers have made great strides the last few years"

I count Lizard King by Pipeworks as a pretty good substitute.

Wrench, which has already been mentioned, is incredible. In NYC we also have good neipa available in many stores by Interboro, Greenpoint, and SingleCut.

On my first trip to MI, this beer amazed me. As a Mass native I can say this is damn near as good as many Tree House beers that I've witnessed people give up their left kidney for. Great beer and widely available.

Check out the new IPA from Sixpoint! A lot of grocery chains carry their beers. I picked it up for $11.99/6pk at Whole Foods.

I'm drinking this in NC only 5 days after it was canned, and it is on point! It's dank/heady and sticky, but very drinkable. Bravo @Sixpoint

Surprised no one has mentioned Connecticut Valley. We've been getting that here in central PA and while they haven't all been winners a few of them have been really good. Particularly Hop Whammy.

The Sloop IPA, No Pumpkin, that I'm currently drinking I picked up from my local Wegman's. I guess Sloop is starting to distribute a little bit. It's soft and juicy and very tasty. I can't believe I got this at Wegman's!

Haha, I was just at their new brewery (no. 2) for Sloop, and it is a huge place. Frankly I was shocked. The days of me and Adam Watson standing next to his folding table at Beacon Farmers Market and talking beer in between selling a few bottles are not only gone, they are loooooooong gone. I think you are likely to see a LOT more Sloop beer very soon. In fact, everyone who now gets Sloop distro at all will likely be seeing a steady and much increased flow of beer from Justin and Adam.

Picked up a few Revision hazy IPAs on my trip to Vegas/California earlier this year. By far my favorite thing I hauled back.

I had their standard Revision IPA 6-pack as my campsite beer and would gladly pick it up again.

Sip of Sunshine, Captain's Daughter, IPAs from Industrial Arts and Singlecut are some of the more well known IPAs on the shelf here in Connecticut.
Relic, Counter Weight, Steady Habit, Kent Falls, and New England Brewing make IPAs almost exclusively now and are all local. Two Roads brews Too Juicy and Road 2 Ruin.
Bell's just started distributing here so we have Two Hearted which, out of all of them, I am thankful.
Toppling Goliath Sue and Pipeworks Ninja vs. Unicorn I see all the time as well.

I actually saw Sip of Sunshine on the discount shelf yesterday.

A lot of those are not NE style, especially Sip of Sunshine, Two Hearted and the Toppling Goliath.

I really loved this when I had it last year, been looking for it around NYC but haven't had any luck. Definitely the best Sloop I've had.

Oh, here's #8 I can get in central MD.... Shipyard's (Portland ME) Finder NEIPA. Drinking a can tonight. I think its kinda old though. Doesn't taste/smell very fresh at all.

If I can find fresh Juice Bomb, Citra Bomb, and Sauer Peach regularly at my local grocery store I'm going to be a happy man.

I popped in to a bar in Albany on Wednesday and saw Wrench on the chalkboard for $5 and $8. I had a general sense of them getting good word on here so I went up to get one and when I got closer I was surprised to see that the sizes offered for those prices were 6 and 10 ounces. Ouch.

If I'd remembered that it was actually your favorite I probably would have gritted my teeth and bought a small, but it was very crowded and not conducive to a quick and easy taste really anyway. Is that normal pricing for them?
