It's really smooth this year, no alcohol burn. It's creeped up on me.

when was the last time shorts released a pumpkin beer in bottle? i love shorts and pumpkins and long to combine the two, specifically when watching a scary movie at my house

I don't think they have ever released a pumpkin beer in a bottle. The only pumpkin offering in their BA list of beers is this one, which may be on tap now at the pub based on the date of the last rating. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/9629/193055/

@Mothergoose03 is correct. The closest they've come to a bottle release is PumpkinCrusha being released last year in kegs. A few places around me had it, and they brought it to the Detroit Fall Beer Fest.

Honestly I can't blame them. Every year there's a glut of pumpkin ales taking up shelf space until they get discounted.

I agree with not wanting to bottle with the glut of pumpkin beers already on the shelfs. Too bad since PumpkinCrusha has a cool label. There is always the chance that it may end up in a fall variety pack.

Just saw Short's mart finally has variety 4.0 in the store (up until now only had sixers of the beers in it available), so looks like it should be in stores soon.

Did you guys also notice they removed variety 6.0 from the schedule? I assume it is because they ran out of time to release it since all the other variety packs were releasing late. Looks like 5.0 is now gonna be the Hoppy Holidays pack.

I don't know about you all, but I'm kinda happy there's one less variety pack. I love me some Short's Brew, but I kinda preferred four variety packs per year.

Variety 4.0 is confirmed out in the wild, just saw some at Meijer in Saturday (hidden behind some Variety 3.0 - sneaky, sneaky).
I poked around the beer locator on Short's website to see who else might have it, and saw that:

Pandey! dropped in a few stores in the area two days ago. I haven't been back out to confirm yet, but it looks like some smaller accounts (and Busch's) got it. If it's out there, this is great!

Not to knock Space Rock, but Pandemonium is more my speed as far as Short's pale ales go. Obviously the sales don't agree with me or we'd still have it year round. Anyway, if you haven't tried it before I highly suggest picking it up while it out.

I don't recall that anyone confirmed that Spruce Pilsner is part of V.P. 4.0 but Short's did announce it on Facebook yesterday.

    Got my v4.0 today.

The beer locator also said several stores in my area got Pandemonium but none of them have it updated on their beer menus and I have not checked in the stores either. I wonder if that was slated for v5.0 before they removed it from the schedule and they are just pushing it out in 6pks to small accounts instead. Or they may be doing what they have done in the past pushing out some random 6pks to small accounts like they did with Chocolate Wheat, Fun Tina/Dr. Thrillride (6months before actual release), and Irish Red last year.

I hope there's another one or two coming if that's the case. They're like Easter eggs.

Will be checking tomorrow for pandemonium, one of my all time faves. I will report back my findings.

Was a mistake. Pan Galactic, not Pandemonium. Bummer.

That wouldn't be a bummer for me. PGGB is my favorite Short's beer.

Thanks for checking. Ah, well. That's a shame, I was looking forward to some Pandemonium this weekend. Just have to console myself with more PGGB, I guess.

Finally saw slurm lord in Ohio this week’s. Was surprised to see it in cans. Anyone have a report on the differences (if any) between this and last year’s release?

My 6 pack was bottles and not cans but I would have to say the recipie is the same. I didn’t taste any significant difference compared to last year

Not announced yet, but I just saw that Short's updated the "TBA" November beer on the 2018 Relase Schedule to Bonsai Project. Props to Tripel_Thread for digging those labels up.

My guess is that we will probably see NXT IPA in the Hoppy Holidays pack.
