I thought it would be fun to compare it to the same list on UT, but they won't let me. However, I can pick the breweries I'd expect to be on top and get some information. I generally find the BA reviews to be more accurate to my own conclusions (avoiding hype of the day beers), but that certainly only works if there are actually reviews. So let's compare.

Out of the BA top 10 list, the highest rated beer on Untappd is Rusty with 4.46.

Holy Mountain's top beer is 4.74 which would put it tied for #1 on all of Untappd (along with ABI beers I won't mention) if it had the 19 more reviews needed to qualify for their Top Rated list. That beer is the Hazelnut/Cacao Midnight Still, which doesn't make the BA list.

Holy Mountain also has 2 other beers which are also higher than any of Fremont's beers, Guava Table and Hand of God, neither of which make the BA list.

Fremont itself has several beers above Rusty including Smoking Jacket, Ancient KDS, Brew 1000, Brew 2000, The Last Nail. Not a single one is on the BA list.

Floodland has 2 beers above Rusty (Time/Eternity, Protection Spells) and one tied with it (Marsanne). As you may have guessed by now, Floodland doesn't have a single beer on the BA list.

Not sure what conclusions you should draw from that other than WA makes some delicious beer.

Apropos of lists: I just looked through the Oregon Top 100 list, and I've had...surprisingly few of them.

I guess I don't drink the kind of beers that reviewers like to review.

On the other hand, every time I mention Pallet Jack it's like I'm giving it a rave review. Which means that I'm reviewing it constantly.

If Fresh Hop Pallet Jack is available at the Fresh Hop Fest in Yakima this weekend, I'm going to review the hell out of it. By drinking it.

    Uhh...SCIENCE!

Grab me growler, and send it back with Lis and Beav. It's Yakima, I'm sure the folks pouring at the fest will fill a lil sumpin' up.

Up to 29 on the list, with about another 20 that I know I've had, just not reviewed, and maybe another 15 where I think I've had it.

I'd wager there's 1,000 or more actively brewed Washington beers not in this database.

Do what you like with that statement.

2 Elysian pumpkin beers is the top 50 is lol-worthy.

Top 10 is insanely dope, though. Checks out.

Well, back in the day, they were quite the hot commodity. Folks were eager for them every year.

Never understood pumpkin beers. -shrug- was very glad to see the popularity of fresh hop beers take hold. It's a fun time of year beerwise with that and barrel-aged stouts. Overwhelmed.

Additionally, has to do with the fact that they are packaged and distributed allowing for a greater number of people to try them and rate them. The numbers of ratings a beer has is factored in to its rank.

Pre-ABI The Great Pumpkin would easily rank as my #1 pumpkin beer. They used to make some great pumpkin beers.

I’m fairly certain if I had to make an overall beer list, a pumpkin beer would appear before a NE IPA.

This is making me thirsty. I might need to open a Reuben’s Autumn Harvest with dinner.
