Halle Berry's pet Octopus: NBS BIF 8

Finally getting back into the box of goodies from @Dragginballs76 , despite visiting the doc yesterday and seeing the confirmation of my fears when I stepped on the scale. I blame this BIF!



Resurrection of Riches has some really unique notes, at the forefront being a distinct starfruit character that I've only ever encountered once before (Reuben's FH Double Crush... I wish I remembered the hop bill for that one to pin down the source!). I haven't even thought about starfruit in probably 20 years, but as soon as I stuck my sniffer in the snifter (well it was a snifter at Reuben's. For this one the near rhyme doesn't really work) I was flooded with very specific connotations of a younger me being amazed at the starfruit at the grocery store because they were so weird... the shape, the consistency, and of course the smell all came back to me super vividly.
Also I really dig the can art... again speaking of aesthetics and strokes and the like...
and of course the can art wouldn't matter a lick if the beer inside wasn't enjoyable, and this one certainly was!
Anyway, thanks for sending this one along Mike, it's been a trip!

 

And @CanConPhilly, a clarification on the rules, please. If someone sends beer, or has beer sent, to open at a BIF-related share, that counts right?

And what if someone hand-delivers beer at such a share?

 

I feel like these should be included...as long as there is proper documentation of the beers on this thread...for my own ounce-counting sanity.

It just dawned on me, perhaps a bit too late, that due to recent events the USPS would start to be more vigilant with packages now. Has anyone had any issues suddenly?

Yeah, I'm wondering what if they can tell it's liquid and decide to take a closer look.

 

I'm concerned about this as well. I have two boxes ready to go and now wonder whether I should hold off/ship via Fedex (if that will even make a difference in vigilance...).

 

I had two delivered yesterday with no issue and sent 2 out today. Didn't get any questions.

 

Of the two boxes I have out, one is supposed to be delivered today so let’s see what happebs!

 

(One package of liquid has landed!) luckily for the beer nerds out there, the extra mail scrutiny doesn’t seem to be an issue

 

Good news: my wife just called to tell me I have a USPS package from "Azi". Pics tonight when I get home, and retribution sometime thereafter.

 

glad she didnt say it was destroyed in some way! Was worried for so many reasons, this round seems to be filled w boxes in various states of distress. Hope you enjoy!! I do have another, single bottle package that'll probably come at the beginning of next year when I get back from basically the only place to get it (not a beer, sorry lambic lovers!)
