I completely agree. I also happen to believe that beer and whiskey are horrible partners, so my opinion doesn't matter on the subject

I know what your question was. I currently find lagers and porters very boring, and will never seek them again. hence, the "bleh".

Used to bring lots of beer from Windsor back to Detroit when I was living up there, a lot of Brador and John Labatt's Extra Stock. Down here in FL, not at all.

Something close to Young's Oatmeal Stout would be wonderful. I do buy Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout, but it just doesn't come close.
Brown Ales can be great beers, and there are some fine local examples. They fit a niche between spicy hoppy IPAs and lager/pils and big rich stouts of many stripes.. I've been loving Sierra Nevada Tumbler in the Fall 12-pack. It's beautiful in the glass, is rich roasty malty dry/sweet/dry and something to think about. This is a very satisfying beer and another testament to Sierra Nevada's leadership in quality and variety.

I spent almost 20 years gradually building up a love for more and more bitter and malty IPAs and it took all of a couple years to lose much of it. Modus Hoperandi used to be one of my favorite beers when I lived in the midwest but I tried it again on a trip recently and just found it to be too much. Same goes for Greenhead (Newburyport Brewing), a local IPA in the super heavy and bitter mode that I loved when I first moved back east a few years back.

I do still like some solid bitterness and malt presence in my IPAs (Heady is my sweet spot), but the IBU and malt monsters of old just don't do it for me at all anymore.

I once adored any beer that was under $5 a case. That was in a college town far away in space and time. Once in a while now, I will try a Bud or Coors Banquet. I can safely say I have moved on.

nearly 50 years of enjoying beer. For the last decade, the wife and I are enamored with Belgians. also, saisons and wilds, Flemish reds and sours. when we venture out, it is to try domestics.

I don’t seem to drink as much Old Milwaukee as I used to.
    Kidding.
I don’t think I knowingly have stopped drinking any styles. I seem to go in a cyclical pattern based on taste. Let’s say, for simplicity, light to dark. But different brewers each time around.
Many times I’ve bought a style only to get it home and realize that i’ve tried this before and was disappointed. The answer would be a beer log but that would be way too easy.

The beer that got me into beer was Weißbier in Germany, but now I can’t bring myself to buy any here to drink. It’s not that the flavor is bad to me now, and I enjoy them when I have them, but I’m just not interested paying import prices for that kind of beer anymore, and most American takes lack something.

Whenever I’m in Austria or Bavaria, however, I will always begin my arrival with one and then have one more before the flight back to the states.

I'm an engineer. I keep spreadsheets. Copying and pasting is hardly "painstaking". If fact, it was easier than merely counting.

And, I did answer the question.

In NY the cost of imported German beer is no higher than the cost of local, regional, or national beers. In more cases than not, it is slightly cheaper.

Any beer with whisky. I love wood character but prefer high abv brews without spirits. Got on and off the NEIPA train, just hoppy bubbles water.

What I am more interested in to buy and home brew now is standard IPAs of the 90s- 2000. While not popular I do like a good malt backbone or taste.

Started with AAL and then I found the larger Belgian brewers.......

I almost never drink them anymore......$ is a small part of that

I never liked lager/pilsner but the last few years I drink them a lot. Its an easy style to enjoy anytime.

I have also moved back to AAL.I love the price point and it fills my needs 75% of the time.

I still love IPA but drink it less and enjoy it more.

I also am not so quick to try a new beer as I was 3 plus years ago.

    Enjoy

Belgians for the most part. I used to crave those phenolic and ester laced brews, now I find I don't want those things, and gravitate towards lagers for that reason.

Belgian ales. That was nearly all I used to drink, both those from Belgian and the ones brewed in the states like New Belgium Trippel and Abbey. Now I don't care for that cloying, distinct taste. Not to say they are bad, or that I'd turn down a Duvel, just that given the choice, I'll go with where my palate is now.

When I first started drinking it was mostly AALs and malt liquor and that definitely isn't something my pallet misses
