I think the one thing we can all agree on is: ain't no damn room for patchouli at the brewery.

Don't care how hot that cute chick is.......

At the risk of re-engaging in what has become the bloodiest of dead horses debates, I would point out that I reject your entire premise that breweries, at least many if not most of the ones I have visited in recent years, are "adult drinking establishments." At least, that does not seem to be the vibe that most of them are attempting to cultivate. YMMV.

You've made clear that you can't stand being around kids no matter how pristine their behavior, which I find odd, but is totally acceptable. And I do agree with your conclusion that you are free to dislike me and me kids, I am free to not give a flying fuck what you think, and we are both free to go on living our lives without regard to the other's opinion.

Kids and dogs don't drink beer. I've never seen a child at a brewery who didn't look like he or she wouldn't rather be doing something else like maybe stay home with the grandparents or a neighbor and watch cartoons. I'm actually not that good at figuring out what dogs are thinking but I'd bet that they'd rather be left out in the yard to fuck up the landscaping and roll around in dead, stinky stuff.

It's not about whether or not kids and dogs should be hanging around breweries (they shouldn't). It's about whether their parents are self-absorbed, self-entitled, self-centered douchebags (they pretty much are).

    Dead horse beaten.

I think it's about time we make this part official since it seems to be the crux of some of the disagreements:

Controversial Opinion: Many craft breweries are neither intended to be, nor operated as, adult drinking establishments.

You seem pretty good at reading minds, at least my kids’ minds. Try to guess what I’m thinking now.

That your kids enjoy sitting quietly with their hands folded politely in their laps while you drink something that they're not allowed to have while heavy metal hits of the 80's blast at volumes that actually damage your head?

That's not what I've seen. We have breweries making their own sodas that kids love drinking. Most places here have board games that kids play or arcade games, the closest brewery to me has an Nintendo 64 for kids to try to figure out.

Plus there are breweries with play scapes.

I don't know much of any brewery that has loud music much less 80's metal.

That isn't too say that there aren't those breweries but there are a lot that are trying to be an area for the entire community to meet up and congregate in. Kids and all.

I was at Tree House last week and after the child rolling on floor kicked my leg a couple times (I was standing at the bar), I decided it wasn't as enjoyable as I was hoping.

Also, the indoor band was too loud for children, proof to me would be the muffled feeling in my ears after I left and I was only there for one drink. Clearly a place I'd bring my children.

I normally don't really care whether people bring children or dogs, but that experience didn't help the children argument.

@meefmoff can we amend your controversial statement to read 'brewpubs' instead of breweri
Well, inasmuch as craft beer is something that can only be legally purchased and consumed by adult humans, I'd have to classify them as one of either a) adult drinking establishment or b) adult beverage production facility.

How about 'many brewpubs, are not operated solely as adult drinking establishments?'

It sounds like you and I frequent very different breweries.

Mostly I was marveling at the lack of self awareness it takes to post something like this
when you are making an argument for why you’re so special that your opinion about who should be in a public place trumps that of the business owner who allows you to be there.

[EXTREME ANECDOTE THAT PERFECTLY COMPLEMENTS MY VERY STRONG, SELF-SERVING OPINION ON THE MATTER, THAT I WILL USE TO GENERALIZE ABOUT ALL OF THE THOUSANDS OF BREWERIES THAT EXIST IN THE COUNTRY, 99% OF WHICH I WILL NEVER GO TO].......And that, ladies and gentleman, is why dogs/kids do/don't belong in breweries

If we chose to just leave it up to the business owners child labor would still be a thing. The regulations we have didn't just pop out of nowhere they exist for a reason.

Whew, you Northeasterners surely have several sticks up your asses. If you want to bring a kid or pet, make sure they're not disturbing anyone. If you have a problem with kids or pets, choose another establishment?

So if a brewery expressly permits/welcomes kids, people still shouldn't take them because if it was up to the brewery the kids would be co-opted into child labor? Is that the point you're making?
