Doubtful because you also get charged an 8$ fee from eventbrite when you check out. So 55 + 8 + ~4 tax = 67$ for three bottles.

    cost of scaling.

I am sure this run is larger than the 6k bottle run last year, and much larger than the run when it was $12. They have more (experienced) employees, a larger physical company footprint, larger brew house, larger cold side, etc.

While the cost of malt will generally decrease per pound used as they scale up due to being able to buy larger quantities - you also have to consider that Rook's coffee prices keep going up and other items they can't get at a massive scale - such as maple syrup and cinnamon.

then when you consider Kane keeps growing - and growing their brand, they need more employees, specifically those who work in the brew house. I am sure they're looking for brewers and BAs with experience, so now salary is scaling with experience, etc.

I mean, it's not exactly fun paying over $20 (after fees) for a non-BA 750ml porter, but I can see why the cost has gone up since they did $12 or $15 brewery releases. Now I definitely would like some, but it comes down to - do i want to drive all the way to Kane for 3 bottles or do i want to spend over $120 for 6 bottles, if i "win"

Completely agree, and same dilemma more and more lately with these beers its like do I feel like putting in the effort and time to get there. More than ever I start just saying no and buying some new stuff to try at the local store.

yea i'm only going for things I really enjoy or haven't had before. I love Morning Bell - but never made a release, so I did that this year. Never had ANTEAD so i went for the 2 bottle set, tried for BA MB, skipped all the others. Never had SB so gonna try for it too

I am an experienced BA, with a skill set that includes, but is not limited to:

    Dissing linelyfe
    Generally shit-talking / light trolling
Appearing intelligent about something with absolutely no actual knowledge
    Being highly opinionated
Internet-based legal, operations, and financing experience, as it pertains to running a brewery

So any Kane folks hit me up. I’m currently on 110k + OT

the eventbrite fees don't bother me, it saves me having to haul my ass down there and stand in a ridiculous line for an hour probably, and also helps Kane prevent people and business from complaining and/or calling the police for parking issues. It does suck when it was $16 on site with tax included but now the bottle is $18 + the tax + the fee, but I will still take some, it isnt that crazy of a price. People are complaining, yet you have people on forums and FB groups selling older versions of it for well over the list cost, so theres thats too

did you get ANTEAD bottles? that pick up sucked and parking was non-existent.but definitely better than regular brewery sale of ANTEAD or SB.

i'm hoping for this pick up they have bags ready for 3 and 6 bottles and given the 4 pick up windows, it's not too bad.

edit: got 6 bottles. cracking at least 1 saturday, i'm excited.

So yes, I bought six, I haven't had SB or MB in over a year so I went all out. Did anyone else get six, it actually had me print two tickets which I thought was weird. Anyone else have this happen? just wanna make sure something didn't go wrong.

ANTEAD was a breeze for me. Parked, received bottles, and departed in under 10 minutes.

Yet it sold out in 15 minutes.
An economist would say it is obviously underpriced.
