Newest Prairie release I've been waiting on to put in my outgoing LIF box finally got here. Drank one last night for those who are friends with me on Untappd (snaketail)....

 

Are you referring to the Double Dunk Oreo? I haven't seen it around yet but I am definitely excited for it. I know it is supposed to get national distro. It sounds like it is basically a non-BA version of STUF'T

Indeed I am. I never got my hands on any Stuf't but this was a big ole beer.
Friggin $37 4 pack. Prairie makes good stuff but for a non barrel aged beer, that's pretty high

 

jesus but B-O-M-B was about that around here crazy prices and I regret the bomb purchase

 

This awesome group continues to amaze me. Now that I recovered most of my funds from my previous employer and I start my new job tomorrow I hope to be getting some well deserved surprise boxes out in the next couple of weeks.

 

Speaking of boxes this was part of that little BIF exchange @TongoRad and I had. Stellar and first time with this brew. Thanks again Michael.

 

Cracking a beer from @Vidblain ninja box, in case anyone remembers I busted my favorite IPA glass a few weeks ago. I have been pouting not wanting to pull the trigger on a new Spiegelau still looking for the SN one like I had. No luck until a buddy was at a beer store in Columbia and called and and said he found three at a Total Wine on clearance for $4 each!!! Now I have 2 and he has one!!! Filling the new one up with this great 8% IPA from Omni Brewing Fad. Thanks Chris!!!




Appearance 4.25 - Pours turbid orange with thick white head that settles quickly to thick ring. Spotty lacing all around the glass.

Aroma 4.25 - Overly ripe pineapple and peach, ripe mango, just a hint of the alcohol coming through, a ton of super ripe fruit.

Taste 4 - Really juicy orange, mango and tangerine, citra hops come out well. Light alcohol presence, citrus peel and grapefruit. Sweet with a slightly bitter finish.

Feel 3.75 - Medium bodied, slight warming from the alcohol dry finish.

Overall 4.08 - Well done IPA, alcohol is pretty present in the taste but lots of tropical fruit on both the nose and taste.

 

@y2kawakami is a menace and must be stopped.

@FlintB By definition, I am no menace. Maybe the box you received from John with broken glass was a menace since it was likely to cause harm...unintended harm obviously.

 

@JBowenGeorgia holy shit man! This isn't just any ninja box, it's huge! To think all because I said I hadn't had any Creature Comforts before and now I get to try all these awesome looking new Georgia brews!

Almost 200 ounces in this "ninja" box. Too too kind, thanks again man, I'll have to hit ya back with some of Arkansas' finest. Pics of the damage coming soon...

 

Get ready for a trifecta from the @SammyJaxxxx box that will not yield to me. First up, an IPA featuring the Nelson Sauvin hop.

A sorta burnt orange color, pretty hazy, and a sudsy off-white head. Dank hops yield a garlic aroma as well spicy tropical fruits.

The garlic isn’t as forward on the taste, and the tropical fruit flavors shine through. A really nice offering by Magnify.

 

#2, a session schwarzbier from Carton. Sign me up.

I love schwarzbiers, so I’m really excited to try this. The pour looks like it came from a bottle of Coca Cola from the old green bottles. I can give no greater compliment.

Light smoky notes on the nose as well as earthy malt notes give way to flavors that feature the smoke and malt notes on PED’s, which is astounding given the 4% ABV.

This is truly a pleasure to drink.

 

Last one, this DDH DIPA from MBC that is KMA .....

Hazy orange color propping up a voluminous tan head. The obligatory juicy hop aromas lead to a flavor profile that features the juicy oranges you expect, but also includes berry notes that elevate this a notch or seven.

If this beer was available to me, it would always be in my beer fridge. Outstanding, IMHO.
