Founders CBS - Final 2018 Barrel Aged Series release.

Just picked up 3 at Holiday. They still had 4 cases on the floor. Not sure if more in back. Thanks for the heads up.

Just landed in stores in Raleigh.

 

I paid $17.99 for it in Chicago this morning. Wasn't planning on picking any up until I asked the price on it. So I grabbed one.

 

My local place got 3 cases, with a limit of 3 bottles per-person. I'm going to pick up 3 bottles and age 2 of them, one for six months from bottling, the other for a year. The price kills me, but what the hell?

 

Mendez Fuel in Miami posted they got CBS in today, so we should start seeing it pop up this this week or next in stores like TW.

 

Anything in central NY anyone's aware of? Tried calling Wegman's DeWitt as the most likely candidate but service lines are busy or something.

 

Supermarket had it today. No lines. Just the rep who gave me stickers and a bottle opener. $24 a bottle and 6 or 8 cases behind the bar. Bought one and will try soon.

 

I wanted to buy it but it was $25, so I passed. I have a breakfast stout fermenting that i’ll Be adding maple post fermentation. Hope it turns out well then I can add oak and bourbon and I won’t have to bummed about passing on CBS.

 

Has this been confirmed by Founders? Not doubting you but I've not seen anything on it from the brewery.

It hits here on Tuesday. Anyone crack a bottle yet and can offer any comparison to 2017? Sounds like 2018 tap had more maple flavor than 2017.

And what the hell happened to the Mountie? Canada only? Do they get the horse?

 

Went to the local Wegmans to check out CBS. They put out four packs of KBS from this March. Wasn't surprised since Wegmans as a company typically does stuff like this (see the BCBS releases throughout the summer)

What I was surprised at was the price. $20.99 for a four pack when I remember it was at least $26 back in March and as high as $32 in some places.

Skipped the CBS for this as I prefer it without maple AND in 12 oz bottles. Cheers!

 

Several cases sitting on the shelf at my local Wegmans. No price anywhere. Asked for a price check. $26. My butthole puckered a bit. Bought it anyway. Of course I did.

Yes - Canada complained, per the article below, due to trademark, reputation, and image.

Next year, the animal rights activists will protest how much that cartoon saddle is hurting that cartoon horse, and the horse will be gone. Then the leather apologists...

This came out today, I think retail was $28. I told my bro pick it up if you want to split the bottle and he declined. I guess I will still give my money to founders just in the form of more breakfast stout and better half. Hard pass on CBS this year.
