    Brett:
    Short for Brettanomyces - a strain of yeast, often innoculated spontaneously in a setting such as a barrel or coolship, that produces a vast array of flavors, lending depth to the beer. These flavors most commonly translate as a strong, musty, overripe/fermented fruit character. It is a common misconception that Brett leads to "sourness" in a beer - an effect more commonly caused by lactobacillus, another yeast strain. In short: stop saying "it has a wonderful brett tartness"

    Damn...I feel like I used more lingo that warrants defining.

    Kinda like dumping an infected bottle of overpriced Bourbon County Stout down the drain. It was that bad, screw the cool factor and call a spade a spade. My taste buds have better things to experience with their limited time here on earth. (I see your point :slight_smile: but sometimes a mercy pour is required, some view it as cool and I view it as a total loss and not worth muddling through.)

    Haze Bomb: 1. Noun. A beer so turbid and orange it appears opaque, sometimes with sediment and little chunks.
    Some folks love um, some want to see them wiped off the face of the earth.

    Which leads to my entry:

    NDS (NEIPA Derangement Syndrome) The anger and resultant feelings of unease and disassociation triggered in sufferers by being alive in a world that includes the NEIPA style of beer. It is commonly expressed as ritualized name calling in response to imaginary stimuli.

    Beer Traditionalist: Someone who only drinks Lagers and then lectures you on how these are a very subtle style that your feeble palate could never appreciate because it has been destroyed by drinking too many devil IPAs and is now unable to even pick up on these fine nuances. Generally rejects change and will frequently fondly refer to the good old days. Also hates and feels threatened by all modern beer styles because they already take up all the shelf space and will surely destroy all traditional beer entirely eventually. Is convinced that craft brewers do not use additional ingredients out of creativity but laziness instead, because they lack the skill to brew a subtle, nuanced beer like only zee Germans truly can.

    I much prefer the way more accurate Murkbomb. Those beers are not, by any definition, hazy.

    The person who loves and wants to drink nothing but um, still making it to all the haze releases in an undersized t-shirt is knows as a hazeboi (pl. hazeboiz).

    I'll nominate one of my own original terms. Feel free to use it!

    "Schnifty" A cheap, somewhat non-mainstream swill session beer. Schaefer, Old Milwaukee, Genesee, Pabst, Keystone, Rolling Rock, etc.

    "Schnift" In reference to only one brand of Schnifty. "Let's grab a Schnift".

    Note: Beers along the lines of Budweiser and Coors usually don't qualify as a Schnifty as they're far too widely consumed.

    Boss Pour - slowly filling your glass right up to the brim to result in absolutely zero head. The effect is your OJ-looking/tasting beer appearing even more OJ-like on Instagram therefore garnering double the likes
