EDIT - think I wrote more or less the same thing as ONovoMexicano, at about the same time...

not sure I get the complaint either... barrels (bourbon or otherwise aren't cheap), plus storing inventory for 2 years is costly as well... spontaneously fermented stuff is always priced higher as well in my experience.

I'd pay $22 for a spontaneously fermented, 2 year barrel aged beer over a $20 candy apple BA pastry beetus bomb 10/10 times personally. ABV to price ratio plays almost 0 role in a decision to buy a beer for me.

Ladies and gentlemen, I believe that after a long and arduous drama drought, we have finally found a new point of contention!

To add some fuel to the fire - ahem sorry I mean my two cents - I agree in principle about the price. But I also think getting balls deep with no (positive) track record is maybe a bit of an ask. But of course don't like don't buy

The Coolship beer is a 375ml bottle which is a tough sell, its probably more expensive than it would be from the source cause it was shipped out here from Arizona.

Oooh, my first controversy-igniting post!
I was considering walking back a bit from my previous pricing position, but if Coolship is truly in a wee 375ml bottle I'm actually gonna double down. :smirk:

The LIC Beer Project coolship beer was the same size I think, and cost $20.

I thought Gin BA Heading West was quite good so I wouldn't be surprised if this was also quite good but still probably not worth the price point.

Unrelated, but I know everyone says OH beers all taste the same, but I finally went to Monkish and 3 of the 4 hoppy beers they had on tasted almost identical, more so than any OH beers I've had. Decipher Prophecies was quite good tho.

Holy shit. That's a $44 750. I'll take two Tilquin 750s instead, every single time. Or 3 Suarez.

I don't give a shit if the beer was shipped from God.

Well, with respect to size vs. price, you have a case, it just seemed you were making an argument based on everything except the bottle size.

I believe you are correct. Good beer. Price was too steep. I'm bummed they haven't been doing anything with that coolship as of late (at least to my knowledge).

I don't think anyone asked for Triple Brocolli to be re-brewed.

For what its worth, the AZ Wilderness guys had bottles of the camp coolship at Green City and it was really really good.

In light of the derision it got, I kind of like Dollar Slice. Has a nice candy sweetness to it.

You should add “beetus bomb” to the thread about beer lingo.

Unrelated, has anyone tried the Captain Lawrence stouts?

Only the bourbon variant with the nuts and shit and I thought it was good.

For me it fell into the usual category of a 4oz pour being plenty, it tasting pretty good, and not willing to spring for a bottle

I'm pretty sure everyone here would be taking the Suarez bottles all day every day if it was that easy.

Stopped in last night and tried both stouts and while at first I thought they were just ok as they both warmed up they turned into really good stouts in my opinion. So much so that I bought a bottle of each.

Also they said they just bottled another beer today (meaning yesterday) and are bottling another later this week so #staytunedformore as usual
