I’m in same boat as @ONovoMexicano and for me it’s a combo but generally more the latter. What was that one from a couple weeks ago - Coco something. I got a full pour in tap room and had to leave it. And I think I’m one of the most anti drain pour people on here. I had parents that militantly made me finish my plate and that has translated to my beer drinking, but this was a horrific exception

Haven't had any OH stouts, but some of these big ridiculous ajduncted stouts are just sugar bombs and cloyingly sweet.

Give me a well done 8-10% Stout/porter with some coffee and up to 2, possibly 3 other adjuncts if used properly and I'm happy. Like Kane's bell/brunch series.

I can get through a stout bottle no problem but I'd prefer to do half one day and half the next .Yes I know it's exposed to oxygen and loses carbonation blah blah blah but I've had great success with it.

It’s the sweetness and how it affects drinkability. Perhaps the flavor combinations too. I find myself enjoying elements of these beers, but not the complete package. I’ll get a taste of coconut and think “That’s good” and then that will dissipate and there’s something I don’t care for and it’s stuck too my tongue because of the gooey nature of these types of beers.

For the record, it ain’t just OH. The last Bruery beer I had I had to dump.

Amen. All this is me too. Wasn’t just the parents. Grandparents too. Waste not, want not. Haha.

My grandparents are rolling over in their graves at my beer spending.

I’ve done this plenty too. Most will hold for a day or two and these gooey stouts with low carb won’t show much difference. Still not something I’d do with the OH stouts, haha.

You might be interested in the Baladin barleywines, by the way. Some of the coolest beers you’ll come across and uncapping/recapping can hold for months.

Rubber stoppers made for half finished wine bottles work great for beer too.

Yup. Those rubber stoppers work just fine. They don’t look like much but they do the job.

Can someone refresh my memory on last Thanksgiving week. Did they do a full release on the Wednesday or wait til Saturday? Thanks

I’m sure there will be cans regardless of day that week as has been the case.

Pretty positive that they didn't have a Saturday release and instead had a full lineup on the Wednesday.

Instagram says 2 cans dropped the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, and then 2 cans the Saturday after.

but given that they're doing a few drops a week lately.. I can see them doing a 1 can/bottle Monday, 2-3 Tuesday then a few more Saturday.

They definitely did cans before and after. I was there that Saturday and it was dead.

Whatever happened to Suparillo? Lack of good crop of Amarillo maybe? They never even gave it the dream treatment, what gives

Pretty sure the court of public opinion ruled it a no-go. It never really held a candle to Double Citra, Space Diamonds, Forever Simcoe, etc. Suparillo always reminded me of candied apricots with a handful of fresh cut grass thrown into it.

true, but i thought the last canned batch of single hop amarillo IPA was quite good. (has it been a year ago?) that should make a return. they had it on tap a few months ago but i didn't get to try it.

I never wanted more than a 4 pk but just liked the change of pace in flavor as you mentioned. Definitely agree on the apricot flavor

Last time I remember seeing single-hop Amarillo in cans was the iconic debut of DDH Double Mosaic Dream.

God damn it, nostalgia. I promised myself I wouldn’t cry today.
