Anyone have a definition for FIB?

Just heard this in BIF, and this is actually a term I am unfamiliar with.

    Barleywine:
    (1) a strong and often intense beer. Lively and fruity, sometimes sweet, sometimes bittersweet, but always alcoholic. A brew of this strength and complexity can be a challenge to the palate. Expect anything from an amber to a dark brown color, with aromas ranging from rich fruits to bold hops. The body is typically thick, alcohol will definitely be perceived, and flavors range from dominant dark fruits to palate smacking, resiny hops. English varieties are quite different from American efforts, which are often heavily hopped with high alpha oil American hops to create a more bitter brew. English versions tend to be more rounded and balanced with a slightly lower alcohol content, though this is not always the case. Most Barleywines can be cellared for years and will age much like wine. (BA definition)

    (2) an IPA past it's prime - greater than 2 weeks old as described by various hazebois/tickers

In my zoo full of pet peeves, this is very near the one that requires the most feeding. Just so, so false, and so, so many people believe it. Even a year old ImpIPA is nowhere near a Barleywine. I place the blame squarely on the shoulders of Sierra Nevada. If they wouldn't just over hop the shit out of Bigfoot......

Shelfie: A term used by whale-chasers to bash often delicious and world-class beer simply because it's easily attainable and they consider it beneath them.

Pallet Turd - in this era of direct to consumer sales of 16oz NEIPA cans, and the accompanying instagram announcements and lines, this is a beer or beers that doesn’t sell out in 83 minutes, but instead turds up the brewery’s refrigerated storage space* for days or even weeks.

*where any was factored into the haze factory’s brewery specs; not always guaranteed
