Anyone have any knowledge about how long the BBT batches lasted yesterday?

 

Like a hour, maybe slightly less.

So, probably just the one 1/6 barrel, packed house and how big were the pours?

 

~45 minutes i think. i got there around 5:20 & one of the bartenders said it had been gone for 40 minutes.

 

Are BBT b2 on-site bottles expected to last the whole weekend of the release?

 

yeah, i’m certain there won’t be any issues there. this was two 1/6 barrels so no surprise really that they got gobbled up that fast. plus there should be a 2nd on-site bottle of equal or greater interest during BBT weekend.

 

I got there at open and hung out working until they tapped. 2017 blew around 4:45 and 2018 a little after that. I had to leave at around five and they were both gone by the time I left.

5oz pours.

Both are drinking super good, though I preferred 2018 (as did most of the folks I talked to about it).

 

SP Instagram story shows them bottling something for Thanksgiving weekend. Who knows if it will be to go, or what style

 

Derivation 9 onsite today. That beer was so damn good!

 

Doing my best to celebrate from 4 hours away.

 

A genuine question:

Why was SP stock piling FSW beers for cellaring?

Seems odd.

Seems odd people would go to SP and buy one on a normal day.

Maybe for the people that don't like sours and go with people that do?

Still seems odd.

 

They are releasing a beer Saturday that was a collab with FW (among others). Would assume this is what spurred them to have a vintage night of FW beers.

It's weird, but they're pretty tight with FW. IIRC they're closed at both locations so everyone can go to FW invitational, etc. I think they just have a good relationship with the brewery and dig the beers. Which I get. Cellar has FW stuff on tap pretty frequently.

 

So instagram shows new bottles, are those available now or tomorrow.or....

 

Release on Saturday at both locations per the cellar anniversary blog post. So unless they do an early release at the Cellar won't be available until Saturday.
