To be honest, I would rather see every store open a trade the exact same time.

Would make decisions a bit easier. When stores open up at different times, makes it harder to plan because suddenly you are trying to decide if it would be possible to double dip, and if so which two stores give you the best ability to do so, and how early you hve to get to the first in order to do so.

    Mind fuck pandemonium.

Does anyone know if the kegs popped at scofflaw? or was goose just sampling?

Oh, I agree. I just wish they'd all open at like 9 am.

I am genuinely curious what the end result would be if everything opened at 9 vs. everything opened at 7. Although decisions would be similar, more people will for sure be around at 9 than at 7. I'm just not sure that stores opening at 7 vs. 9 would cause people to line up that much easier. I think most people (regardless) would get in line no later than 6. -And with this year's lineup specifically, I suspect closer to no later than 5.

Arriving earlier than 5 is just tough for a lot of people. People say fuck it at that point. Even if the wait is only 2 hours.

Yeah, I think lines will be longer at 9 than at 7, but as someone who doesn't care that much about the BCBS releases anymore, I don't want the pressure to feel like I have to show up before the sun rises. I tend to drink a fair amount on Thanksgiving, and so my body is never happy with early Black Friday plans.

Anybody seen any tapping announcements for Black Wednesday? I used to go to Beer Bistro but the place closed down.

2014 Prop kicked around 6:45 I believe. 2015 Rare was still flowing when I left around 7:20. Goose was sampling Reserve, which was amazing!

It's pretty much been the same places doing Black Wednesday events for a few years, so just follow all of them on social media and you should see the announcements whenever they come.

Your comment about Beer Bistro is interesting - I wonder if another bar will get to fill that void, or if it is just one less option we will have.

Wonder if those two stores with older variants will be worth it. Dont need the extra hassle for the opportunity to buy '15 rare....

The link lists what the two stores will have. Rare isn't listed at all.

Reading the comments on the Jewel blog are becoming an annual tradition for entertainment. It's clear the Jewel folks on that blog aren't exactly knowledgeable about the BCBS scene and/or aren't on the same page. In the morning, one person says non-event stores will have variants, and then in the evening, one person says only the event stores will have variants.

    Hi Amber,

Will any of the locations other than the Event stores have variants?

    Best,
    Bill

    • Hi Bill! Yes, some locations other than the event stores will have very limited quantities of variants available. Thank you! -Jayme

So the non-event stores will have some variants of 2018 but you can’t say which ones or how many? Will there be a limit of what you can purchase at those stores?

Hi Jeff! Only the 10 Event stores will have 2018 Variants. Thank you! -Chris

If you want specific store information, the best bet is to talk to someone in the liquor department at that store. It can be a pain in the neck sometimes to find that person, but you get someone with much closer information usually.

I'm sure it will be for the poor, ignorant Walgreens worker that is conned into selling entire cases of variants.

This month's newsletter from Fountainhead said they're doing their tapping at 6 on 11/21. It also says they're going to be one of only two bars in the city to have any BCS on tap before 11/23, so make of that what you will.

If that's true, it's going to suck. Those places are busy enough as it is when there were more than just 2 bars having it on tap.
