Haze/Hazy- A term used by brewers to sell a west coast IPA that didn't come out the way they wanted.

I use USPS almost exclusively. No FedEx, UPS if I need a really big box sent.

Burners: Cheap, potentially crappy beers you keep on-hand for friends that might come over who never have good beer when you visit, so you dont extend the quality stuff to them either.

Damn, I could have been saving money all this time? I've just always been under the impression that avoiding USPS was just an unspoken rule of trading. I'll have to consider this on my next box.

Has anyone heard of a Double White Beer? I had a beer the other day (Marble Double White) that was a white beer- it was quite good, bu tin now way that I could tell different from a white beer.

Beanie Baby -- 'special' beer made more 'special-er' because you waited in a line for it. Oftentimes these beers just sit in a closet somewhere until its past its prime

That's just an informal way for brewers to label a witbier that has a higher (if even slightly) ABV than the norm for one.

    FIB: Fucking Illinois Bastard
Apparently a semi-joking derogatory used by people of the Michigan area, to denote people from Illinois, perhaps because they are jealous of their easy access to Goose Island beer? For reasons unknown to myself.

To expand on that, I should use the opportunity to include "double" in this thread. Double typically signifies "more" of something but should NOT be taken to literally mean twice as much of that thing. More often than not, it is an indication of a higher strength beer. Today, it is sometimes used interchangeably with "imperial" in this regard. Popular variant occurrences include the Belgian "dubbel" (which is dark in color by convention rather than a "rule"), German "Doppelbock" (although Salvator was not originally a high ABV brew), and American "DDH IPA" (in this controversial case, the reference is to hopping). Historical terms include the 19th century dubbelt öl, dobbel gerst, double Diest, and double uytzet; but the term was used in brewing throughout Europe and for centuries. Like single, double, triple, (and quad); English brewers in the past used a similar system for indicating an ascending order of strength (such as for milds and porters): X, XX, XXX, and XXXX. To illustrate even more cross-over, in the present day, Belgian brewer De Ranke's XXX Bitter is a variation of their XX Bitter with 50% more hops.

When you actually meet one of your online beer friends in person, you've gotten a "handshake tick".

Neck Beard 1. Noun. A person who is unnecessarily picky to the point of being annoying.
Knowledgeable yet too narrow minded, opinionated and self-centered to learn new things.
Whiny and often anti-social, believes themselves be “Uber Hip”.
Scruffy facial hair is not mandatory, T-shirts two sizes too small are common.

Not that Poo-Bah automatically equates to beer knowledge, but on average those that have attained that level have been here a while, have reviewed a lot of beers and styles, have seen most topics come around several times, and do have something to offer on pretty much every topic. But you apparently have a problem with that?
